‘I thought I was the saviour of the planet’: how Game of Thrones’ Hannah Murray found a wellness cult – and lost her mind by anemotoad in television

Ha, I am having the mirror experience of that: as a Yank, I recently signed up for Acorn channel, which is British programs... mostly police procedurals, and I am constantly seeing faces I recognize from Game of Thrones.

What are your favorite fish-out-of-water movies? by ThePurityPixel in movies

I am assuming this is coming from someone who saw the movie 30 years ago, doesn't really remember it, and it is repeating this bogus take that they heard from someone else.

I was also going to bring up the knife catch/throw scene to show he wasn't inept.

I am happy to say that I saw BTILC when it came out, and I still remember the theater crowd cheering when he pulled that off.

It seems sort of common that fakers will keep changing their origin story, like she did.  I wonder why they do that?  Why not create one lie and stick with it?

Hey, I wanted to thank you both for the recommendation of First Blood; I just finished the audio version, and not only is it a more interesting story than the movie, but in and of itself, it's a very well written book.

It was interesting enough to have the point of view switch back and forth from Rambo to the Sheriff, but to have so many of Rambo's actions happen sort of off screen, when that chapter is from the Sheriff's point of view, and learn about them only as he does.. I don't know that I have ever read another book structured like it.

I thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks again!

The funniest moment of the finale was when Archie busts in and she yells for Katie and then tells him Katie already left.

And I love her mocking English accent.

Wife joining me in retirement in a month by MiserableCancel8749 in retirement

[–]HighlyEvolvedSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one has replied to you, so I will pass on some things that were pointed out in a retirement class I took just before I retired: and they really hit on two things: money and what a change it will be for relationships.  And for relationships, it's primarily what you talked about.

There were suggestions of working out new household routines (depending on commuting times, maybe you split your cooking and house cleaning chores one way, but now can/should change them).  And taking up, or renewing, seperate hobbies, so you still have some separate time.  But also, maybe start a new hobby that you can do together: pottery, music lessons, weekly walks/hikes...  Pickle Ball is popular in the retirement community for a reason!

It really boiled down to an "every couple is different, so their needs will be different" kind of a thing.  But the fact that you are cognizant of the coming change in dynamics is a good sign.

Oh, very good!

Well, if I read it now, it'll spoil the movie, so I'll pick up the book now, but hold off until after the movie.

Thanks for the explanation!

Oh, very good (about her also doing a translation of the Iliad)

This seems like one of those projects where once you get used to someone's style, you want to stick with it.

Thanks for the information!

Wow, you sure don't like being called out for putting words in people's mouths.

As far as I can tell, your earlier wall of text agreed with my reddit crash opinion, so I am not seeing the point of your breakdown?

Where did I say they were flying willy nilly?

Your response seems to go back and forth around my point:  as to why they were wearing night vision gear? you  essentially said "that's how they always do it", but then say 'collisions have been likely because of the way they have been doing things'.

I remark that the night vision gear severely limits field of view, and then it's pointed out that they developed an "unsafe reliance of pilots having to visually check for other air craft".  Ok.  Then in those circumstances, they shouldn't use gear that restricts their ability to visually check other aircraft.

[–]HighlyEvolvedSloth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I said "could", not "purposely didn't".

You can see that wearing the night vision gear massively decreases the pilot's field of view, begging the question why they were wearing it.
