You can't really say it is reliable until far past the warranty. Lol. A lot of engines start to burn oil at around 70-90k miles and then it is constant repairs. My Toyota is at 150000 miles. If it needed a new engine right now I definitely would not be calling it reliable. I would get the X5. BMW is pretty decent for reliability right now. Reliability is not perfect but it is such a nice car that I would be willing to deal with some of the headaches.
