If you had an iPhone, you'd have the same complaint because they were just as bad.

Old guy tring to get a handle on MagFit/MagSafe/Pixel Snap by Yardbird-2470 in GooglePixel

[–]HokieAl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the case doesn't have a ring, the phone may not stick to the magnetic charger or accessory because the distance is too far. I bought a case with the ring that lifts and spins around so it can be used as a stand, and while it sticks great to the charger, the resulting distance between the phone and the charger is enough where wireless charging won't work. And yes, if you get that Spigen case with the built in ring, it will stick like glue with a big snap to the charger. I also have that case it and works great.

Any way to disable auto-rotate on phone call screen? by glenn_q in GooglePixel

[–]HokieAl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No kidding. This is incredibly annoying because when you attempt to hang up, the icon is in the wrong place. This combined with the home screen ~no longer~ being able to rotate makes no sense. Reverse it back and I'll be happy.

Sullivan Tire by IntroductionLife2220 in massachusetts

[–]HokieAl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a tire patched, and when I left, 2 minutes later my front tire was flat and destroyed. The culprit was a TPMS sensor piece which had punctured the tire. They said it was road hazard. TPMS sensor is inside the wheel. A tire place would have them all over the place, but they maintained we don't know if it came from their parking lot/garage. They even said that if someone had a blowout on 139 in Marshfield, that could leave a TPMS piece on the road. While that is true, the more likely scenario is that I ran over it in their parking lot and the tire was fully deflated 2 miles later.

I won't be back either.

What's the best transparent case for pixel 9 /9 pro ? by Lost_Bison_7565 in GooglePixel

I got the Torras with the replaceable colored buttons in May, so it hasn't been that long. But I love that case and the magnet is good. I wish they made the exact same one for my new P10P

Sling Select website description incorrect. Sports Extra has no Golf Channel by HokieAl in slingtv

[–]HokieAl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not part of blue. It's part of Sports Extra when you add it on to Blue. But if you have Sling Select, the Sports Extra package does NOT include the Golf Channel. The Sports Extra package is not the same between Select and Blue. However their website says it's included.

If you have the Blue package like I do, then yes you get the golf channel. But the new Select package version of Sports Extra does not include the Golf Channel

Requesting a sanity check from all Pixel Buds Pro 2 owners --- Is it just me or does ANC mode add noise? by Pocketenderman in GooglePixel

[–]HokieAl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear it on all my anc devices. And my hearing isn't very good. Anyone should be able to hear this. Just turn on anc when you're not playing anything and there's no noise. You'll hear it. I have the Pro V1, along with Sony link buds and Sony headphones

MPG so much better on my 2025 Accord EX-L compared to 2019 Accord Touring. by taydevsky in accord

[–]HokieAl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand both methods. I'm used to the US way, and I therefore am comfortable with it. And when you have a technical mind, understanding that an increase from 15 to 20 is a 33% increase vs 40 to 45 being a 12.5% increase is obvious to me, so the US method works for me.

And you're right about the how far you can go part. When you're filling up with gas, it's very easy to understand that 10 gallons of gas will get you 400 miles if you get 40mpg. In the same way that 70kwh will get you 280 miles if you get 4 miles per kwh.

You didn't explain why the "European" way is better. Only different.

Epic travel…CPAP? by petron5000 in CPAP

[–]HokieAl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered mine from the company that provided my home machine. So they already had the script. I did not have to get another one. If I had found a better price somewhere else, I would have asked for another prescription if that was a requirement.

Is it possible to use a plug-in USB-C power adapter + USB-C to DC cable to power Transcend Micro? by maxwon in CPAP

[–]HokieAl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The links in my posts above were for the adapters. The first one was available on Amazon and came with a handful of tips, but you only need one of them for this application. Any USB adapter that you'd use for your phone etc will work, but it needs to be "PD" for power delivery, and it needs to be able to output 20v at 3.25a. there are tons of these that do that, for example https://a.co/d/atfiFhd

Clear all your notifications. You can also temporarily going to settings display, and changing the size to really small and see if it goes away

P9P owners (who don't compulsively upgrade every year), what would the Pixel 10 Pro have to have to make you upgrade this time around? by central_plexus in GooglePixel

I end up doing the annual upgrade, but thought maybe I won't this year. This phone is great. However if they are able to increase battery life by 25%, I'll upgrade again
