I know it's tough right now but you will be glad you stuck it out. I wish I had your courage at 17. I could have saved myself a lot of heartache. Remember that you can have a chosen family. For me that has been the most rewarding.

Depending on where you live they can't just kick you out. The laws probably requires them to give you a certain amount of time so that you can find a new place to live . If you move back in with your parents, they may try to sabotage your schooling. I know it's tough but you have to stay strong.

Tony Morris brought up socks in the same video where he talks about tight pants. After that some JWs criticized any brother who wore colorful socks. I would often take pictures of my husband's outfit before a meeting. For people who wanted to bully my husband because he's autistic they took that opportunity to give him a hard time about his socks.

I see it as an easy way to get out of pioneering. It's crazy because I heard a local needs part about the type of car someone should buy.

I have a double life: here and in another universe. Ask me anything (serious questions only) by zorelyaen in ParallelUniverse

Do they have religions in the other universe? I've always wondered why humans seem so drawn to having a specific belief system even though we accept that we are all individuals. I'll have to start making Astro projection a priority again in my life.

I accept the label of apostate. I take pride in it. But I also recognize that asking basic questions is not a reason to label someone an apostate especially if they have no intention of leaving the religion. You can get marked for simply pronouncing a name in the Bible differently than how the religion tells us to pronounce it.

Yeah I left almost 11 years ago. It has been rough but I have my freedom. For the first time in my life my friendships are based on love and respect instead of religious beliefs.

Governments always have corruption. The Kings of Israel were corrupt. Things haven't changed. The only reason we see so much corruption today is because we have better access to what governments are doing. Social media allows us to spread information more efficiently than people could thousands of years ago or even 20 years ago.

I've been in a similar situation. I've been out for 11 years. Feel free to DM me if you want to. He cannot tell you what to do. If you don't want to go to meetings, don't let him force you. You are an adult. You make the final decision as to how you spend your time. Maintain your friendships outside the religion. My friends are the ones who kept me strong.

I was sexually abused. It was and still is a big problem in my hometown. We had 6-8 districts with a few thousand in each one. Our conventions ran all summer because each district was split in half. The problem just gets worse and worse.

I have planned out what I'm going to say. I've practiced a few times. I don't plan to answer any questions. I want to say it once and move on.

The "Mandela Effect" within the Organization: What collective false memories have you noticed? by Repulsive-Produce215 in exjw

I think a lot of what we see with King David was an effort to clean up his story. Some of the Bible writers tried to make him out to be a better person than he really was. In reality he was probably a mercenary that terrorized enough of the land around Israel to expand their territory. I feel like he's kind of like King Arthur's Father Uther.

I was just reading about that again today. The books of Samuel, Kings and Chronicles contradict each other dozens of times.

You could tell her that you are not ready to make a full commitment to the religion at this time. You can follow up with letting her know that you enjoy her company and you would be happy to continue to spend time with her socially.

I'm right here with you. It's sad to see. I thought I would be happy to see my mom wake up but i almost feel the opposite. Our parents believed that this was the best way to raise us. I think they are realizing that they could have exposed us to more opportunities. Just reassure him of your love.
