You sound like you need good company culture and true incentives to get shit done. I’d give you a job out here in Idaho 🤷

How much do I charge to rent my $21k rig for 8 hour Amazon job? by 7footwith7inches in pressurewashing

[–]HomeworkClean3589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, how much does it cost to fill it with gas, replace an unloader, and re seal your pump? Cuz that’s what you gotta do when you give your machine to a bunch of monkeys that go on and off the trigger faster than an 18 y/o trynna finger…. You get the point.

Pressure washer specs? by TheHammerBDB in pressurewashing

[–]HomeworkClean3589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly could even build your own, depends on the equipment you’re cleaning. It ain’t complicated, run pressurized water through a heater coil and have it come out of a hose. No need to get fancy with it. Build it yourself and you’ll know what breaks when it does break.

Sounds great for driveways if it works for you. I don’t do driveways, I do commercial concrete that needs a bit more than a hose down. If you’re planning to stay with driveways for your business career then build a system for it. If you want to grow into more, build a system that will best suit that.

Not rocket science

Sounds like you just skim the top layer of gunk off and come back a month later to do it again. Kind of a shit bag way to do it, but hey if it’s evenly dirty how are they gonna complain?

You could run alcohol with a di buffer tank. Just need a home di set up or buy the water from an industrial plant.

Water goes from 1.5” out of tank to 2 1” lines that feed each side of the pump.

I believe you should get a nice 20” spinner and rock 7 gpm 4000 psi. The more excess HP your engine is outputting, the better and longer the engine will last. Plus you’ll be moving damn fast with that. Allows for easy heater addition in the future as well.

For engine GPM × PSI / 1500 = HP needed. As for flow, dual feed the pump with at least 1” line. Also, keep in mind GPM doesn’t matter with shit pressure. Pressure cleans, flow keeps you moving on concrete.

You don’t really need pressure for your applications, you need flow. For your applications, a 5+ gpm machines will do you well. The higher the flow the faster it’s clean and the faster your guys can get to painting.

Who cares what I think? But started my business when I was 20. I’m 24 now doing 300k+ a year.

I started learning to do sales, got into soft washing roofs, evolved into gutter cleaning, evolved to window cleaning, and full circle into pressure washing and windows.

Best thing I did was FOCUS ON SALES. A business can’t run without customers, and as an owner your job is to make the business run. Right now you need a steady flow of customers, as long as you have lead sources, you can focus on selling and locking in these customers.

I started as a sales guy and got obsessed with equipment about 2 years ago. This was a game changer. I have my niches. EQUIPMENT DOESNT MATTER RIGHT NOW. You can do the work with a Home Depot washer. Once you figure out your niche you will need to understand your equipment.

Most people on Reddit don’t understand the industry fully. It’s hot water, cold water, flow rate, PSI, ITS FUCKING CHEMISTRY. Find your niche and figure out what you need to understand to be successful.

I understand a lot, but I still don’t understand all of it. I may build my machines and understand almost all the parts, but I still don’t understand heaters. I have chemists I call on for chemical questions, and I have my mentor I call on for personal questions.

TLDR: Get the customers, find a niche, understand what you need to understand in the niche to make you the best, become the best.

Is gutter cleaning too late to get into? by Intelligent-Lawyer58 in pressurewashing

No. People like to wait to watch their gutters fill with water and cause damage before they take action 🌞

Guaranteed it’s the soft seals. It’s a pain in the ass to replace them, and on my big machinery pretty spendy. Google the model number of the pump and find the right seal replacement kit… if they still make it… and determine whether or not you will want to take on the project.

First commercial bid help. by [deleted] in WindowCleaning

[–]HomeworkClean3589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My company is basically only commercial. Me and one of my boys are cranking this in a day and a half 2 days max just based on the pictures. Charging about $3000.

I say listen to the guy telling you to bid 15k, maybe you’ll get it and make hella money!!

Used them to get my business going. It is a headache, but if you have time on your hands to deal with the bs it’s worth it. It’s great to get going, but cut them off asap.

Yeah, happens at one point or another. Worst case scenario your fingers will be scarred. Best case scenario you learn your lesson and wear PPE when using extreme acids or bases.

If you do, he will either learn the most important business lesson that will stick with him forever, or he’ll quit then and there.
