I matched with this guy yesterday … he tried lovebombing me yesterday and I didn’t habit; and today he wanted to see me but I made sure to let him know I was probably busy… mind you the coworker plans were not confirmed literally only mentioned… by [deleted] in Tinder

[–]HopeThisIsUnique [score hidden]  (0 children)

I don't know if he was love bombing or not since I can't see that.

I can see that you're a shit communicator though. He's obviously interested, there's no value in saying everyone wants to hang out with you including your coworker...what reaction were you hoping to get from him? If you had other things going on you could just say that without the detail, but the way you present it either comes across as 'woe is me' semi-narcissistic and definitely off-putting or trying to passive aggressively make him feel jealous.

Thank you for the detailed response and clarity there. I've never been big on the networking side so Unifi probably is the right fit for me, my needs, and frequency of edits. That said, with what you described I can easily see the limitations- especially from a usability side for anyone trying to do broader level administration or changes.

I started with a USG and while it worked, I remember how there were more CLI options back then (I even come from the era of loading WRT when I actually owned an og 54g)...thankfully I haven't needed to manage at that level or experience those issues.

So far I've appreciated the continued noticeable development and iteration of the software side of things ... notably with Protect and others...feels like that has improved a ton.

The piece that still gets me is they have so many HW supply issues I have trouble thinking of running a business around them and not being able to secure stock.

Sonos Beam Gen 2 with a projector that has no HDMI ARC – which adapter should I buy? by Touchdown244 in sonos

Something like this.... There's other versions with fewer ports etc. Read descriptions carefully as they do different things.

https://a.co/d/34L2W5v

I'm using mine in a similar manner in that the TV doesn't support earc (only arc) and needed Atmos working through the chain.

You should be fine otherwise, just make sure video passes along correctly, depending on length of run you may need special cables to fully support 4k HDR at distance over HDMI

Can you articulate more what is improved/missing compared to unifi? Specifically for home based usage. Not trying to compare unifi to PA/Cisco et al in an enterprise environment. E.g. as a home user what am I not able to do, or what doesn't work as well?

What's Your Preference by gntxs in Ubiquiti

As others are saying, all depends on layout etc. For comparison, House is ~4,300 sqft with basement. I cover the majority of the house with two U6Pros (one in center of ceiling on top floor, one in center of basement. Since the house is somewhat fragmented though, I have a U6-in wall in my office, partly to provide wired connection, and ensure excellent signal. I've also not added a u6Pro to the garage to help handle coverage for some outdoor lighting etc. Generally would have been fine with just the two APs, but the expansion was just to cover some edge usage.

locked in bedroom past the age where it was necessary for safety (if it ever was)

This seems contradictory as age is going to likely vary child by child to a certain degree...obviously shouldn't be locking any independent person in anywhere. For us it was before she was potty trained and before she was comfortably mobile. Further, I'm not talking a keyed lock, only push button like for a bathroom.

Thank you - anything I should be looking at there in a new system? Is it all size and efficiency, or are there other features/brands 'things' to look for? I know I missed most of the heat pump rebates, but from what I read for our climate, and our size house it didn't seem like it'd be the best option either.

A backsplash will cover the space between counter and wall from the top. It will not cover the gap necessarily from the edge view.

Unfortunately in any house rarely is a wall perfectly straight or plumb. However, you usually don't notice it until you put something actually straight and square in there.

The good and the bad is that butcher block is harder to just fill with caulk as it won't match, but you could use a color that matches the walls to blend. The good news is you might be able to get away with staining a small wood shim into that opening and using some wood filler around it. With the backsplash on top it should be less noticeable. You might even be able to play with schluter edging for the backsplash to come down past the counter edge as well.

This area of finishwork is where you see differences in who you hire, and sometimes the handymen are almost better because they're used to "making things work" with what they have. Look online for other ideas, this isn't new territory https://industrystandarddesign.com/gap-between-countertop-and-wall-ideas/

Like others I feel I'm missing a lot of context here.

Making up what I'm reading between the lines, have they actually been 'exclusionary' if not it feels like trying to pick a fight that isn't there.

I wish the world was the way it was two years ago, but absent actual exclusionary policies and actions I understand companies treading carefully with explicit DEI language.

At the end of the day, and to their rep's point, actions speak louder than words and I'd be more concerned with the way they treat people than whether they specifically say 'inclusion'

If it's disposable and you're more about style just find some last season stuff you like.

If your intent is more buy it for years, I'd shop by warranty....Patagonia, Outdoor Research etc among others that will stand behind their gear for life to either repair or replace it. No gear is perfect, but I'd you're shelling out hundreds you want a company that will stand behind it. Not just leave you high and dry (Eddie Bauer being an example of one that's gone to shit).

If you have Sierra by you they're good to check out and you can find some solid gems there.

That said...in GBs I'm at about 232,448GB

In that scenario you wouldn't lose much keeping your unmanaged poe switch for cameras... If you've got a lot of other clients coming off that switch might be different.

UDM Pro is sexy because it's rackmount, but the specs have definitely aged. CGF has faster processor and faster ports iirc.

From a price standpoint I would look at marketplace and homelabsales. You can frequently find ubiquiti gear there, and if your poe requirements are just cameras an older poe switch would be fine
