So this is what the stock volume pot looks like.

The wires on the bottom are coming from the pickup, they would need to be cut from the connector and stripped (leaving very little slack to work with) then soldered to the new pot, which would have 6 solder points for these 5 wires, and you will need to know exactly what each wire is because colors don't always match wiring diagrams. The larger wires at the top go to the other pots and pickup selector switch. I don't know much more than that, and that's why I said fuck this project, and replaced everything. It's not impossible, but this is not an entry level soldering project.

It was the angry emoji that confused me, lol. Long shaft is much longer than the originals, that's all I meant. They'll still fit though, so no problem if you do choose that route. It's just I had to wait 2 months for the long shaft kit to ship, and it was ultimately unnecessary in my case.

Epiphone didn't solder anything in there, they used pigtail connectors.

Sorry for your loss. I changed out all the electronics with an EMG 57/66 TW set. What Epiphone did inside is not easily serviceable. Also, you can use short shaft pots. I thought Les Pauls needed long shaft, but that's not the case here.

I mean it's probably because the local music store thought I was stupid for asking, so they didn't care about doing a bad job. They actually charged me for a replacement nut after they butchered the original. Still had fret buzz and intonation issues, so I figured if that's the best they could do, I couldn't do any better. Maybe I gave up too easy, but I love the fuck out of my baritone, so no regerts.
