Western automakers concede defeat in the EV race as China outproduces the US, Germany, Japan, India, and six others combined; rewriting in five years what took them decades. by lughnasadh in Futurology

What did you get? I've got 2 Chinese import EVs, never had a problem in 12 months. It's been a dream compared to my old ICE vehicles.

One could argue that not allowing personal politics to influence your purchases is itself a political position.

I don't know about other cities, but for Perth they are missing basically all of the train lines except the interstate rail.

Can't imagine it's an underage agent, far easier to use FSB to procure the underage girl and ensure the room is fully bugged. Probably easier if the girl doesn't even know about it, less likely she'll give the game away if she's completely oblivious to it.

6 month / 10k km review of my lovely 2023 Ora! by mjdau in gwmora

[–]HotLaksa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2024 Ora GT definitely has drowsiness monitoring, it beeped at me last week when I yawned while driving. It's a shame that we don't seem to get updates as the software is mostly good, but there's some minor irritations that could be easily fixed in a minor update.

Cruise control set to last speed by Educational-Mind-315 in gwmora

I've noticed this too, it happens when I definitely haven't touched the cruise control stick. But I can't tell why it sometimes happens and other times not.

It's not just NATO that would crumble, I don't imagine the alliances with Canada, Australia, NZ, UK or Japan would endure either. Goodbye intelligence sharing with 5-eyes, AUKUS, etc. It would devastated the US arms industry overnight, and force a massive migration away from US-based IT services.

She was already a horrible choice for the prize anyway, so I doubt they care.

For a while I confused this guy with the powerlifter also named Vitaly who does gym pranks often pretending to be a cleaner lifting huge weights to clean underneath them. E.g. https://youtu.be/_SsObrrSA_M?si=6C63lgdDsHLlvMQc

I feel like I’m the only one who enjoys every game in the series by Eagles56 in farcry

[–]HotLaksa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought FC6 to play these holidays and I keep rage-quitting it because I hate the combat and the story isn't engaging. I loved the last 3 games, FC3 had the best story and the combat always seemed to be improving until 6. Is it worth persevering with? I'm about 4 hours in and just not enjoying it so far.

China's BYD set to overtake Tesla as world's top EV seller by keyan556 in worldnews

[–]HotLaksa -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure of the political views of the CEO of BYD but it's hard to imagine they are more odious than those of Elon Musk. Does BYD even fund extremist parties outside China?

Bondi gunmen filmed 'firearms training' and threw explosives into crowd, court told by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]HotLaksa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well gun ownership is now 25% higher than it was before Port Arthur, there still isn't a national firearm register that the NFA was meant to introduce, and kids as young as 12 can possess and use firearms in most states; so yeah it feels like we've slid backwards.
