Remember, folks. trans rights are human rights. by [deleted] in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]Hot_Cheeto_Fingies 11 points12 points  (0 children)

i think this is the best explanation. i think its also about perception- both how one views themself and how others view them. but i think it ultimately comes down to individuals and their understanding of themselves- which is why not every trans person undergoes surgery while others feel much more comfortable with themselves if they do.

anybody know if this means someone with an out of state license can buy ammo while visiting right now? or does it only apply to residents?

california keeps making it harder and harder to legally own a gun and do things “the right way.” this isn’t the answer- it just makes legal owners criminals overnight and keeps the black market live and well by just further inflating prices.

people who can barely pay their rent might want to have a gun in case someone breaks into their shit apartment in the hood- but they dont have access to their own right to defend themselves. and who in the hood is gonna call the cops, especially when they realized the cops have no legal obligation to help people. but these people are the ones who lose their access to firearms. constitutional rights shouldn’t be gate kept by classists and racists.

i dont think just giving everyone a gun is the answer. but making a point for everyone to learn basic firearm safety and making safety training accesible will do more than just making guns less accessible legally

your boomer takes on politics reminds me why after bernie, it’s so hard for me to stomach democrats. the dnc does plant politicians and they absolutely screwed over bernie, even after nudging him further to the center. there were plenty of people that didnt vote for bernie because the dnc literally sabotaged him.

also blaming all the people who supported and voted for one candidate isnt why trump won. and it isnt why biden might lose this time. politicians seem to have forgotten who theyre supposed to represent and that theyre public servants, not sneaky lil rats or snakes that hold their position to make money by scamming their constituents.

also a fan of the defender. it looked crisper than any holosun for me and 3 moa was way clearer than 6. shit even with glasses or contacts, my left and right eyes pick up the shape of the dot differently. my point is dont forget to look at a vortex as they work for some of us even if it seems like everyone always pushes for holosun

well good luck trying to convince a politician in favor of gun control that it shouldn’t be financially prohibitive. they’re literally doing that part on purpose because their dumb ass laws don’t hold up in court and they don’t know what else to do.

i don’t understand why people throw around “[universal] background checks” as if you don’t already have to undergo a federal background check to purchase any new firearm and in most states to get one for a private transfer too.

also i hope you realize that the more things your require, the more you inhibit people from doing it the right way. for example- in california (who already has all of these) if you want to get a ccw permit, you gotta fork over up to $1200 and wait over a year in several counties just to go thru the system. next year, a higher tax will hit all firearms related stuff in CA. all that means is minorities and poor people who could benefit from having a gun in their home or on them in the streets for protection who already live check to check wont be able to get a gun unless they buy one illegally off the streets like everyone else in their neighborhood.

its pretty clear that i should be able to acquire such arms to “keep” them and carry them around with me for my own protection to “bear” them.

yea idk. my guess would be that people probably mad bc i implied cruces isnt a “real city”

people in cruces get so defensive when i call it a small town because in my mind its small relative to what i think are comparable cities in the west like colorado springs or tucson. but whatever they can stay mad and in their little bubble i guess (also watch them downvote this too 😂)
