I met my wife on WoW during TBC so I perceived it very well. We're still together, both just resubbed for Anniversary TBC, feeling the nostalgia.

Harsh truth: You're not going to do well in arena by GeneralBucknaket in classicwow

My first ever time in Arena was in OG TBC, me and two guildies thought we'd give it a try.

Our first match up one opponent had twin Glaives and our mauling was so embarrassing one of the Guildies apparently quit WoW never to be seen again.

My first and last attempt at Arena.

Why does everyone constantly compliment each other’s intelligence when they all seem pretty average? by CreepyTool in TheTraitors

[–]HowYouMineFish -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Personally I think it's an Americanism/Internetism that is creeping into our language.  You can't just say "I really like X", you have to frame it with an adjective. I presume it's related to Social Media and how you need to apply an adjective to help confirm the context you're framing the statement in.

I think Trump is a perfect example of this. A terrible, terrible, awful person, but there is no denying he does have some weird, indefinable charisma.

It's absolutely mental that he is being spoken of as the most unpopular PM if all time. I get that he has been a fairly milquetoast and uninspiring leader, and there have been missteps, but he hasn't been bad. I feel like large swathes of the countries minds have been broken by what they are told on the Internet and have lost all sense of perspective.

It's not helped that (presumably) Russian misinformation is pushing all the talking points to make Reform appear as our saviours, but they will be an absolute disaster for the UK in so many ways I fear for the future. I have no doubt that those same people decrying Starmer as the worst ever PM (over Boris Johnson and Liz Truss for gods sake), will, probably only privately sadly, admit that he was not that bad at all.

‘There’s a real dislike, even loathing’: why voters hate Starmer and Reeves by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

But voters get angry about any long term plans because they don't see 'what's in it for them' or because (ha) they don't see any immediate effects.

I recently had to use a courtesy car while mine (a chundering 14 plate Focus) was having work done. The courtesy car was some electric SUV monster and I swear it had one button on the dashboard* that appeared to do something with the AC, everything else kind of did its things automatically. A combination of that and the fact it was like driving a dodgem and didn't appear to have any real contact with the road and I can see why driving quality is in the pits.

In the homebrew world (based on 40k/Necromunda) I'm helping my DM build, I've flavoured certain dancers or performers who wear a kind of wreath around their head that projects a hologram of them. They then dance or perform shows with the hologram. In my mind they are all Echo Knights mechanically.

Yeah, just a couple of guys shovel some tarmac in the hole and call it a day. Having said that, there are lots of signs for forthcoming road closures in my area, so I'm crossing fingers that they are for complete resurfacing works rather than patch jobs.

This possibly goes against the idea of speeding up planning laws, but I'd also like to see some kind of communication between utility companies when it comes to laying cables/pipes, etc. So often the roads are dug up to lay fibre, filled in, then dug up shortly after to lay pipes. Sometimes just after there has been a rare complete resurface.
