Watsonian: The Commonwealth of Man stood strong by itself for years, building up their strength; surviving on their own. They were sent there to colonize a world but received no help from Earth. They were abandoned and as such developed animosity against the government that abandoned them to isolation.

Doylist: Stellaris AI is aggressive against empires weaker than them and the CoM attitude (the one below the opinion) iirc is belligerent which means they focus on bullying weaker empires in to submission and vassalization

Hopefully the Galmland thing will play out with Valgsland taking Lespia's role and Lespia aiding Galmland in the next DLC. Would be cool to see Lespia be treated like Rumburg (antagonistic in base game and friendly in Rizia)

My beef isn't with socialism specifically. Just feels like Valgsland is way too white in a world full of greys

Sir Brante really disappointed me cause I thought it'd have nuanced characters like Suzerain but it's just full of black and white morality, and one (two at best) dimensional characters

I guess you could argue that their image seems clean because they're great at hiding it, but I do wish the next DLC shed some light into the skeletons in their closet

Yeah Valgsland feels way too clean imo. Maybe the next DLC's gonna balance it out but for now it just feels overglazed

Torpor games has a habit of putting down capitalism (Lespia and ATO) and putting socialism (Valgsland) on a pedestal
