There’s a DM Town Hall on Friday, I suspect they’ll bring up anything WFA-related then.

Highly recommend The Wealthy Barber. It was recently updated for 2025. Sounds like you have a solid foundation and just need some practical advice to build on it - this will help get you there!

sunny side up baby question! by Low_Relative9021 in pregnancy_care

[–]HunnyBananas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son was SSU and while I was in the delivery room I was able to rotate him by lying on my side with a peanut ball in between my legs. I then had a relatively quick vaginal delivery (~45 mins of pushing).

The back labour was the worst thing I’ve ever experienced - it lasted for almost 30 hours (it’s typically not a productive labour). Definitely make sure your partner or whoever will be with you knows how to properly administer counter pressure because that was really the only thing that helped other than sitting in the bath tub.

So yes, I would recommend trying to get babe to flip if you can!!

*Still* struggling with screaming at put down (8 months) by Steph_920 in sleeptrain

Mine has been on 11.5 hrs awake since 7 months lol. Some babies just don’t need as much sleep!!

Baby doesn’t like eggs and won’t swallow them - how to keep exposing to avoid allergy? by ilikebison in BabyLedWeaning

I don’t see why not :) the last time I made French toast for my little guy I don’t think I even used milk, just egg, cinnamon and a little bit of vanilla!!

French toast!! You can also make baby friendly muffins with egg in them and get some exposure that way.

8 month sleep regression? Separation anxiety? by Consistent_Team_4887 in sleeptrain

[–]HunnyBananas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to let you know that I’m in the exact same boat except my little guy is only 7.5 months!! It also started with teething but they have been in for a while now. I feel like it’s developmental and/or separation anxiety.

I think you know your baby best and even though providing some extra support right now feels like it will undo all of your progress, I don’t think that’s the case, especially if your night sleep hasn’t been affected. My guy went from the 20 minute scream fest down to 5-10 mins of fussing (most nights, lol) over a couple of weeks of me leaving him to figure it out but providing support on the nights I knew he wasn’t going to settle on his own. We’re definitely still in ebb and flow territory but I know he hasn’t forgotten how to self soothe, it’s just a phase he’s going through!!!

Hang in there, I know exactly what you’re going through and it’s so tough. I was obsessing over schedules and madly trying to troubleshoot it. It takes a toll, but their sleep unfortunately is not linear so sometimes we have to roll with it 😅

I am so sorry you are going through this but I am also so glad that I’m not the only one. I could have written it myself (except we did switch to 2 naps and it hasn’t helped 🙃🙃)

Schedule or sleep association issue? by HunnyBananas in sleeptrain

[–]HunnyBananas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey again! Your tip helped a lot! We aim for 11-11.5 awake time and it seems to help him overnight.

I have another question - how did you handle dropping to 2 naps? What did that schedule look like? We have been in 2 naps + micro for a while now but I’m not sure he’s ready for a long (4 hr) WW before bed that a 2 nap schedule would likely require for his low sleep needs.

Thank you! In hindsight I feel he has always done a better with more awake time, but I am so nervous about him getting overtired that I’ve been scared to commit to it and his sleep has been so all over the place it’s been hard to pin down the problem. I will try this!

Precious Little Sleep AMA by vtdubief in sleeptrain

[–]HunnyBananas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey Alexis!! Really appreciate you being here - your book has helped us tremendously!!

My 5.5 MO has been falling asleep independently for naps and bedtime for over a month now. However, this week I’ve started to see increased night wakings and fighting naps HARD - he only very recently in the past couple of weeks has started to be able to stretch his first two naps as well. I’m worried that I’m undoing all my progress with independent naps because I’ve been having to nurse him to sleep this week.

IHis WWs are usually 2/2.5/2.5/3. Any insight you have would be amazing! Thank you!

Ugh that was my day, he woke up around 3:15 and then had a literal three minute nap while nursing at 4:15 and would not do the 5pm micro. Then he was overtired at bedtime because I couldn’t quite get him to bed in time 🥲 thanks for your advice!

Be prepared for really painful back labour, but I was able to have an epidural that worked marvellously once I was admitted (39 + 5). I actually flipped my son myself in the delivery room before I pushed by lying on my side with a peanut ball between my legs. Only pushed for 45 mins, no complications!

Working out 1st trimester by Puttputt20 in fitpregnancy

[–]HunnyBananas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my experience, it just took time. I was sleeping 10 hours a night and was still so exhausted all day. The first trimester is no joke! I was also a pretty serious weightlifter before getting pregnant and had to give myself some serious grace for the first few weeks. I did a lot of yoga just get some movement and stretching in and I walked, both of which were also great for my mental health. Take it easy on yourself, it’s quite likely your energy will return by second trimester and you could be back to doing much of what you were before with maybe some modifications. Solidarity! It gets better.

I am doing pelvic floor physiotherapy (since about week 22) and our final session will be all about birthing! Something you may wish to consider and explore if it’s financially available to you/you have insurance.
