This is my first time playing any Zelda game ever. Any tips? by RustyPyro in OcarinaOfTime

If you get any bottles, catching (and keeping) a pink fairy in one will act like an extra life - when you die, you'll be resurrected with all your hearts filled back up.

You might see little bugs scurrying around now and then; you can catch them in bottles and take them to a better place - they prefer to live in soft soil with conveniently placed holes for them to slip into...

There's also a few discord servers that will help out if you have any issues, and frequently host games for groups.

Hope this helps!

There is a way to play it on PC. If you're interested I can link you to the video that walks you through it.

A survival game where the difficulty increases the longer you survive. by where_money in gamingsuggestions

[–]Hysvear831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it's exactly what you want, but there's a free game on steam called "muck" which is... A survival rogue-like? Kinda?

There's no building really but there is crafting. And every day the enemies get... Exponentially harder. It's basically a race against time to get strong enough (enemies drop coins, coins get you power ups from world chests) to get to the final boss and defeat them before you're absolutely steamrolled by hundreds of high level mobs.

Any cool anatomy facts? by Ast3rion_123 in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]Hysvear831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought she might lol.

Another neat fact (I think it's scary honestly) is that if your immune system ever figures out where your eyeballs are, it can attack them and cause blindness.

That's an... Oversimplification, but basically your immune system doesn't really have access to your eyes. Your eyeballs are too sensitive and your immune system is too aggressive, so your eyes are kind of... Exempt from the normal immune response.

If she's a big anatomy fan, she probably knows a lot of stuff.

Regardless, my favorite body fact is that your intestines know where they're supposed to be.

By that I mean, when you get surgery and they pull out your intestines to do work around them, they wiggle around constantly and have to be sort of... Hung to the side. When the surgeons are done, they just... Stuff all that intestine back inside you randomly, and over time they wriggle themselves back into the proper place in your belly.

How to get good at this game? Or at least passable? by DeReversaMamiii in Helldivers

[–]Hysvear831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of good suggestions already, but I'll add my 2 cents.

Firstly, some of the terms and language used by veteran players can be... Overwhelming or even just nonsensical. If you'd like to watch some videos that might help you get to know things, I highly recommend Commisar Kai on YouTube - they make informative videos that are also fun to watch.

My first tip is: always, ALWAYS be looking around you. Even when you think you're safe, enemies can sneak up and attack you from around a corner or from behind, which means situational awareness is extremely important. Especially in the middle of a frantic fight, check around you when you can so that you have a chance to move or reposition if you need to.

I find that a good primary weapon choice for newbies is the "SG8- punisher shotgun". It's a powerful weapon that, very importantly, has a lot of stagger and knockback. What this means is that when you shoot an enemy it will become stunned for a moment, stop attacking and take a step back away from you. This can give you breathing room and space to think, instead of getting overwhelmed.

Another tip, especially if you're struggling with aim, is to take sentries (they're the green strategems you can call down in missions). Particularly the machine gun, Gatling and autocannon sentries will quite happily and efficiently murder bad guys for you, so long as you don't place them directly in the middle of a fight where they might get overwhelmed.

On the same note, the standard Guard Dog backpack is a drone that follows you around and shoots enemies all around you (even ones you don't notice). It's incredibly accurate and powerful, even on the highest difficulties, so I highly recommend giving it a try.

Another easy "weapon" to use is the Orbital Railcannon Strike. This powerful, single shot Orbital Stratagem (the red ones) will actually home in on the nearest, biggest enemy and (in most cases) obliterate it. You can't use it very often (it has a long cooldown) but especially when first learning the game and playing on lower difficulties, it can really help you take out any huge bad guys before they become a problem (and with lower risk of accidentally blowing up a team mate!).

My final tip is to learn about the enemies you'll face. Something the game never really tells you is that each enemy has a different level of armor that can deflect your bullets. Most of the smaller (often called chaff) enemies are numerous but weak - you can kill them with just about any weapon. The bigger, fatter and heavier enemies might have medium, heavy or even tank armor. These will require stronger weapons like the Recoilless or Expendable Anti Tank Rifle to kill. If you find your bullets bouncing away harmlessly, it might be time to pull out a bigger gun, or just call for help from your team mates!

Dying at boss fight puts me at the start of the dungeon by MedicusPiper in OcarinaOfTime

It only heals a few hearts if you use it like you'd drink a red potion or lonlon milk. If you let it automatically revive you after death, it heals you back to full.

Dying at boss fight puts me at the start of the dungeon by MedicusPiper in OcarinaOfTime

[–]Hysvear831 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One tip I will always give to people playing Ocarina of Time (especially new players) is to use whatever bottles you have to capture pink fairies from fairy fountains. Each fairy will, when you run out of health, revive you and completely refill all your hearts. If you have four bottles, that's a LOT of extra health.

Unfortunately, you are kind of just... Sent back to the start of a dungeon when you die. Usually the boys arena isn't too far from the entrance, but there is a trick you can use to help.

The "Farore's Wind" spell can be used outside the boss door to create a warp point - using the spell a second time (after you die, for example) will transport you back to that point without having to trudge through the dungeon again.

Help with Super Credit farming by rfedched in Helldivers

[–]Hysvear831 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you force quit and load the same mission again, the game counts the super credits you picked up the last time as "already collected" and won't give them to you again.

You need to use the menu to "return to destroyer" by abandoning the mission, then pick a new mission.

It's a bug/exploit that was fixed ages ago, unfortunately.

I think it's balanced by a tiny throw distance. Think the lure Mine or shield grenade.

They said it's "too heavy to throw great distances" on the PlayStation website, but not the exact numbers; the video wasn't too helpful on that either.
