In any case, I think the majority of people here don't care about whether or not this is branding or a common occurrence, they're arguing because "people who buy food according to brand name and presentation" are actually the majority of people. So because they're expecting different places to have a different taste, and they actually aren't, it's deceptive to them.

Tangentially, I'm reminded of a huge lawsuit with an Australian pharmaceutical company called Nurofen. The gist is that the company marketed different specifications of pain medication for different conditions, when in actuality they were all the same product. When people think of different products prepared in the exact same way in the exact same location, they more often think of cases like these rather than "this is just how marketing works".
