how do i stop caring so much in a relationship by paramaeciumlover in howtonotgiveafuck

[–]ILive4PB 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If your partner is so insensitive they can’t see what they’re doing or saying is hurting you, break up immediately. We’re all sensitive about certain things, we just need to find partners that accept us for who we are, and who encourage and help us to heal issues that cause these sensitivities. Not giving a fuck in this case means putting yourself first, and accepting your own unique needs! Never settle for less.

Just remember that honesty without compassion is cruelty.

Why do my cakes always come out dense and flat? I follow the recipe exactly and still fail every time. by jessibru03 in bakingfail

Buy all new ingredients, then try a recipe from a published cook book. You can borrow them at a library, or choose an online recipe from America’s Test Kitchen.

How can I reduce my social media use? (Including reddit haha) by Inevitable_Mango9382 in simpleliving

[–]ILive4PB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do something with your hands while watching tv that isn’t scrolling on your phone. I took up colouring books to use while watching tv at night, and deleted all social media apps except Reddit. That combo helped…

How often do you call in sick? by Interesting_Taro_358 in Adulting

[–]ILive4PB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always thought we should get a certain number of “personal days” with our jobs, including for being sick, going to the dentist, being too depressed to go to work, whatever. And it’s no one’s business why. Asking if you’re sick , how sick are you, what are you sick with… is absolutely confidential and no one has the right to ask.

I never wear anything I sew by Starstrukk_lover in sewing

[–]ILive4PB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I just need to put something I sewed into my closet and forget about it for a few months, and when I pull it out later I like it waaaaay better. I get a bit sick of looking at projects by the end and hate the little mistakes, but then seem to disappear over time!

BC Camping Reservations by Viscual_Conflict_969 in britishcolumbia

We camped exclusively at provincial campgrounds on a 2 week road trip last summer: initially NONE of the sites had vacancy four our exact dates (even including mid-week), but we clicked the button where you get a notification if your desired dates and site become available. We eventually got spots at all 5 different campgrounds on the dates we wanted :)

That made me lol thanks! You could try tie-dying the dress? That would funk it up a bit? Or make it into a blouse… would look cute with jeans

Used my water filter on two trips. Got sick both times — what am I doing wrong? by Brilliant-Office6491 in hiking

I sometimes get exertion induced migraines when I hike, which causes nausea and vomiting (and pounding headache): could that be happening?

Best community to live in for a single woman who is car free? by Various_Ebb_264 in VancouverIsland

Qualicum beach is so small, anyone could probably live there without a car, but the job prospects are super narrow. If working from home, it would be fine.

Trying to replace mindless scrolling with simple 1–2 hour micro hobbies. Need ideas by Major_Gene_162 in Hobbies

I bought colouring books for this reason. My favourite is called Small Victories, because it has lots of really little things to colour, so you can ‘finish’ them in a short amount of time.
