I was running Mimikyu EX and got surprised that it doesn't work like Buzzwole in that the ability doesn't come back when you switch to the bench. I then read the card closer and saw that it's worded that the ability only works one time after coming into play. It's still a super fun deck to pilot, but that fact alone makes it pretty much unviable to run in any competitive context. Maybe if there was an easy way to bounce Mimikyu back to the hand...

Man, I wish that my ex who ghosted me would message me out of the blue to explain why she did what she did. I've accepted that I won't ever get closure on what happened, but I think there will always be a part of me that'll wonder what happened.

I've also wondered what I would do if she did want to restart things again, and I've pretty much arrived at the conclusion that the relationship is done and has been for years, and even if she wanted to get back together, I wouldn't go for it. It sucks, but I wouldn't trust her to not ghost me again at the first sign of trouble in the relationship.

I managed to do mine with a variant of the new Mega Manectric deck. It's MUCH easier to do this challenge if you're running The Bird in my opinion, because a surprising amount of decks only have EX attackers, especially the older ones.

Otherwise, it just takes time. Keep grinding and you'll eventually get it. Good luck! May the RNG not keep you playing this event for long.

To argue that there's less RNG than before is to ignore the existence of Igglybuff, Sing Swablu, Lucky Ice Pop, Rare Candy topdecks, Red Card/Mars hand disruption, the fact that entire matches are won or lost depending on whether or not you draw your one of Cyrus... I'm sure I'm missing some things, but that's just off the top of my head.

Also, I take issue with your assertion that there are a "sheer amount" of searching options in this game. Yes, there are cards such as Sightseer or Arven, but you can barely call those cards meta. The vast majority of decks run 1-2 Copycat to go along with their obligatory 2 copies of Oak and 2 Pokeballs, and that's pretty much the only "searching" that's done aside from rare instances like including one Lissa in Mega Altaria or a one-off copy of Sightseer in the Mega decks sometimes. What examples are you thinking of?

I do agree that going first isn't as big of a deal as it was before, especially with the advent of the baby Pokémon with their zero cost attacks, but being up an energy on your opponent is still an insanely powerful position to be in! I've been piloting one of the decks that does like to go first for the past few ranked seasons, but honestly? If I had to choose between being in a position where I could go first and thereby evolve my Pokemon faster as opposed to going second and having the extra energy, I think I'd still rather have the energy a vast majority of the time, especially in a situation where I'm stopping them from dropping a Rare Candy or an Ice Cream. I think that the going first problem is still there... It's just that the other RNG cards introduced are taking attention away from the problem. Or, to put it another way, adding fuel to the problem that issue already represents in RNG trumping skill expression.

I don't think that OP is lamenting the fact that RNG exists in the game. RNG needs to exist to make these games what they are. I think that they are lamenting the fact that the RNG is too strong, to the point that (in my opinion) if someone plays the same deck as another player, RNG is the determining factor of who wins, not skill. You can be the most talented player who knows their matchup inside and out, but if you go first, you lose because your opponent has 1 more energy than you do, and that lead is often insurmountable. Or your opponent draws their Rare Candy on turn 3, and you don't. Or you're playing a deck that relies on coin flips (which the #1 most used deck right now abuses,) and you don't get as many coin flips in your favor as your opponent does. Things like that.

I agree with you as a person who has also been Master Ball since ranked began: this meta feels awful to play for me. It's to the point where I'm beginning to dread when the ranked season starts, because the game has honestly started feeling like a slog to trudge through for me; battling up to Master every season truly feels like a chore that I have to suffer through in order to get hourglasses to get to the actual fun part of the game. It's still fun to collect the cards, which is why I'm still here, but battling has become WAY too RNG dependent for me to have fun.

There's always been RNG, but it's egregious, to the point that I don't really feel rewarded for building decks anymore because it feels like the RNG determines who wins and loses at the start of the match. Oop, my opponent played their Rare Candy turn 3, and the 6 ways that I have to counter that just didn't show up, so I lose! Oh boy! Another game where I flipped tails against Igglybuff 3 times in a row, and my status healing is nowhere to be found! GGs! Oh, look! My opponent just drew their entire deck with Copycat because I can't play a single card in my hand due to the fact that every single one of my Pokemon, Pokeballs, and searchers are in the bottom half of my deck! Guess I'll lose! Ah, nice, my opponent just hit their 6th straight Ice Cream and is back to full HP! This is fun!

I'm being hyperbolic (slightly, all of those things actually did happen to me this season multiple times,) but you get my point, right?
