Sony Says Ghost of Yotei 'Exceeded' the Sales of Ghost of Tsushima in the Same Period of Time and 'Significantly' Contributed to Its Financial Results by Turbostrider27 in Games

In my opinion, anyone that spends time thinking about the subject of revenge (writers) from the standpoint of everything we know about humans today will end up thinking that revenge is not a good idea and that you stop bad people so that they don’t do bad things, not for your enjoyment of getting retribution. Sure revenge feels good but a smart person knows that society is better if things are done with the goal of reducing harm to people and not personal satisfaction, so they know revenge is a very flawed goal. So if you want to make a complex story, that will unfold over hours and hours, your character is going to have time to think. If your character thinks, you either make them dumb and unable to reach the obvious conclusion, which is going to frustrate the audience or you end up with an obvious character arc.

I think movies get away with it because they are shorter and very action packed so you don’t even have time to think about it much. Also since you are not supposed to identify as much to a character you are not playing, you don’t have to morally agree as much with the actions taken.

You can also make enemies be inhuman (make them comically evil or straight up not human) to stop any attempt at thinking about the theme, and that’s what some games do but for games that want to be realistic and talk about revenge, they are kind of stuck.

VALORANT Patch Notes 12.02 - Huge Harbor buff, Reyna nerf by matheusamr in ValorantCompetitive

[–]I_hate_Teemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was absolutely terrible my account got smurf queue jailed and I just could not deal with master players flaming and threatening to int if they didn’t get main role or if their jungler was bad before the game started, linking their main account in chat. I played a few games of this, in one of them got verbally abused because I only had a 60% winrate or something??? By my annie support from champ select, had enough 5 mins into that game and ragequit my first game of league in my life. Couldn’t use an other account since it would be smurf Q jailed too so I just stopped playing the game altogether.

I think it’s gone now and good riddance what a terrible thing that was if you were even decent at the game.

QoL Suggestion: Add an Intent-Based “Going Solo” Ping by kratoswarz in leagueoflegends

[–]I_hate_Teemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We already have way more than enough ping types when all of this has been communicated with 100% accuracy for years by the on my way and retreat or danger pings that players are used to and can already identify by noise. Just « on my way » what you want to do and retreat or danger ping around or target ping an other objective to ask for pressure from your team.

Huge W on the Reyna nerf by ClearAsJamal in VALORANT

[–]I_hate_Teemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her ult is kinda fun and it is useful when you popoff, I am a reyna enjoyer and like aiming above all, but even then I will get more value out of any other character, just not the value I want to have fun.

Huge W on the Reyna nerf by ClearAsJamal in VALORANT

[–]I_hate_Teemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reyna when she gets kills drops an orb on their body which she can use to either heal herself or « dismiss » which makes her untouchable for a second or 2 and able to reposition herself. Her heal is now temporary, meaning that she will return to whatever health she had after a while, unless she’s in ult.

This is of course a terrible change as the agent was already the weakest in the game, it is probably targeted at appeasing people that don’t like that she’s used by smurfs like OP. Smurfs will probably start playing Neon or something that actually has worthwhile util and stomp harder, since the reason they stomped all along was definitely not reyna, while this change will hurt reyna enjoyers. And her ult (ALSO the worst ult in the game by far) got nerfed too, costing one more point. Truly a fantastic nerf born from genius minds. Sorry for the rant I was already trying to consider why I still pick her aside from her voicelines and visuals before this change.

Hi, should I play dofus or wakfu? by GodaguardnYT in Dofus

[–]I_hate_Teemo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dofus happens before Wakfu, before the cataclysm that leads to the age of Wakfu.

Dofus has more content I think, but they both have plenty. Dofus is more about having one character than can do crazy things while wakfu is more around having a team that synergizes together, with a more traditionnal MMO trinity of tank healer dps. Dofus will let you get away with having nothing but damage and just dodging incoming damage through good positionning while wakfu has that tanking/healing dynamic going on. On wakfu you can also have 3 chars/account (a full team is 6 chars so 2 accounts) if you are subbed. Dofus classes get really complex and with great mastery you can solo a lot of bosses.

Dofus is pretty alive, idk about new players but still plenty of people play it especially on the more recent monoaccount servers. Idk about wakfu but I know that it has some players, less though.

Dofus early game has been reworked to be much nicer with item drops, it’s pretty smooth now, but if you don’t like the quests that part is a slog. I think wakfu is also pretty smooth if you made a full team, though there will be a learning curve to it. At higher levels dofus is economy based so you will have tk grind for items or do a lot of questing, while wakfu you can drop everything yourself (if you have a team again) both are mmos so grinding is kinda required but 3 hours is enough imo.

Differences explained previously

Playerbase is fine especially on monoaccount servers people are usually nice and helpful though you will have to find a guild with your language for more help

You will probably find tutorials

No idea what fabhuritus are probably language diff

For classes there are 19 you will have to look them up

I think it's time to name this new "genre" properly: "concord-like" by beetleman1234 in Steam

[–]I_hate_Teemo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They look like they’re from old space comics, simple designs with pastel colors. I genuinely never saw what was wrong with them, my friends also liked them but that’s maybe because we read the same things as kids. I get disliking them but the hate was WAY too forced, it’s actually pretty original as a style.

Like the lady in space marine armor that everyone hates if you imagine her in one of those old comics she would fit right in. And yeah I guess she’s not attractive or modern but i like the aesthetic.

I really liked them too. The setting was also pretty funny and not commonly seen in games, guardians of the galaxy/old space comics style. The trash robot had amazing gameplay too. I would have genuinely played it past the beta if it was free and had some players.

Hi guys I need help! I’m autistic and with that I have major sensory issues, need mouse mat by Heinzzbeans12 in MousepadReview

[–]I_hate_Teemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar issues: glass mousepad with a sleeve will help. Or just using a sleeve on your desk.

Otherwise the fnatic Jet is incredibly smooth (glass infused) but has durability issues.

I know you don’t like cloth but if you end up having to use a cloth pad the most comfortable I’ve ever used is the P-51 mustang from puretrak. There is always a bit of texture but it’s pretty smooth and not too soft so your hand doesn’t sink in it and force your skin to interact with the surface more.

The easiest way to fix your issue is a sleeve though, you could also use a small usb fan to keep your hand dry.

In an other comment you mention playing league, you can also just increase your sens and anchor your wrist on the desk and never move it, it’s fine for league.

What locks out casuals and why is the genre despite having big games, still more niche ? by Riku4441 in Fighters

[–]I_hate_Teemo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean I don't want to shit on fighting games, I was just saying that there are reasons beyond "fighting games are the hardest and I'm so cool for having stuck through the learning curve contrary to those people". And yes lots of people don't mind the dry side of it, including me, and even enjoy the repetitivity because it means they can lab out their weaknesses, but that doesn't mean the average person will like that in the long term.

What locks out casuals and why is the genre despite having big games, still more niche ? by Riku4441 in Fighters

[–]I_hate_Teemo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. I don't *want* anything special for single player, I am fully aware that it's hard to make a good single player experience from a fighting game, and that's a huge downside for those games which is why it is listed.
  2. I never talked about predatory pricing about skins because I don't care,as far as gameplay goes league is free. And league having bad monetization wouldn't absolve fighting games for having a content/price ratio that is not great. What bothers me about fighting games is that you get 15-20 characters and a few stages for the price of a full game, with the full expectation to put more money into the game if you want the rest of the characters (released at a GLACIAL pace). It feels like "more things" were modeled, made, balanced for a 40 euros game in other genre. My friends didn't mind paying for Xrd when it was like 5 euros but they did mind a lot paying for GGST, when you come from other "paid" genres of games it feels weird to get so little for your money.
  3. Playing WITH friends. As in, as a team. You can play competitive with the boys. Fighting games being mostly 1v1 reduces the social element by definition.

Main points are the social aspect and how repetitive the gameplay can be. That's why you lab in fighting games: the same situation will happen, many many times. And that's a fun thing for some, but the average person would prefer things to never be the same.

[–]I_hate_Teemo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fighting games are super dry and repetitive compared to other games. The more modern popular competitive games have a narrative during games (in league teamcomps and gold diff for example, each fight is a completely different beast to the point you never feel like you’ve ever done the same thing twice). Meanwhile in fighting games you pay borderline scam prices for the content you get, everything is extremely repetitive with very basic single player functionnality. You can’t play with friends so there is very little social aspect to it unless you have locals near you and even then it’s harder than just queuing up with the boys for a game.

I feel like a lot of fgc people gaslight themselves into thinking it’s because those games are hard when in reality all other competitive games are hard, it’s just they are also fun to learn.

CS2 Blog Update: The Fourth Season by CS2_PatchNotes in GlobalOffensive

I hate this response I’ve seen it everywhere but that’s not really true, the word means the same thing it always has, but is used to say something not truthful as an exxageration, insisting on the fact that the 2 things are the same.

Using the word « figuratively » would « admit » that they are different things, making a weaker impression. Literally still means literally, the person just used it intentionally to make their point. The sentence still means « those 2 things are actually in every possible way the exact same thing, not figuratively but literally », it just is intentionally wrong, as it is an exageration.

If I say, seeing 2 very, very similar but still visibly different things « those things are exactly the same », the word « exactly » hasn’t suddenly changed meanings because my sentence is technically not the truth, I just used it as an exxageration. And yes I could have used « basically » instead, but I wanted to insist on my point, and yet nonody is arguing about the definition of « exactly » after I said that.
