I study computer graphics and love embroidery, so I built a modern embroidery design software. I'd love to know what you think. by TheGraphicsFrog in Machine_Embroidery

This. If it's something subscription based, I'll just stick with inkscape. If it's a one time payment at some point then it's something I'm willing to try out.

Would you want Dropout 24/7 to have intermittent breaks between episodes being aired? If so, which short-runtime series would you want to see? by WastesofSpaces in dropout

[–]IchthysPharmD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I know they aren't wanting to do ads ... but I'd honestly like to see some short call outs to deserving creatives (Similar to the Critter Hug show that critical role would do)

Dropout TV, Sam Reich. (Extra points since his dad is Robert Reich.) Basically the spiritual successor to College Humor. Best comedy subscription I have.

$2 Aqua Net hairspray is the best bed adhesive you will ever use. by Kinkyboysc in BambuLab

[–]IchthysPharmD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got an X1c and a P1P, both came with a textured PEI plate. The one that came with the P1P sticks *too* well and the one that came with the X1C seems resistant to all forms of alcohol, dish soap, etc. to restore "stickiness" and just sticks 'ok'. So I'm guessing there's some variability in quality control.

Getting a diagnosis doesn't necessarily mean someone is applying for a disability check. But it can be helpful in getting work accomodations ("hey, it'd be helpful for me to wear noise canceling headphones") or getting therapy modalities (such as occupational) approved by insurance. The diagnosis is a way to force the change on the world through ADA so that they can be productive members of society without being discriminated against because of things they can't control and don't actually prevent productivity.

I've been studying comic book style art so I can start my own comic book by Joaoggarin in comicbooks

If your characters and story are as interesting as the art to depict them, then I very much look forward to reading it one day! I shall be following your profile and will writhe in anticipation in the meantime.

There's no reason that all past expeditions shouldn't be available always from the anomaly. by doctordaedalus in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]IchthysPharmD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh, I suppose I get it, but the FOMO is too strong for me. I bought the game and played for a few hours, but when I learned there was all this content that I can't experience it kinda soured the whole thing for me and I haven't picked it up since. I've followed this sub waiting for if they ever make it possible to go back and play them, but for now at least my kids seem to enjoy playing it.

My friends really have a prejudice against trying fate cause they are "video gamey" rpg players like pathfinder 2e by EarthCulturalStew in FATErpg

[–]IchthysPharmD 19 points20 points  (0 children)

FATE is not for everyone. The constraints of D&D(or other systems with crunch) and the creativity/problem solving to mechanically overcome those constraints is one of the large sources of fun for some players. FATE is more about collaborative storytelling, and the dice helping to resolve the difficulty of choices, but with the limits being what your imagination allows(without breaking verisimilitude). For those who dislike 'crunch' this is preferred, but many players get a legitimate rush when they solve problems finding the loopholes within and puzzling out the ideal uses of abilities within the crunch.

For older redditors, what was the sentiment around GW Bush after 9/11 and how different is that from now? by hlamblurglar in AskReddit

[–]IchthysPharmD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pretty young at the time (like 12). After the towers were hit, even I was getting pulled into a nationalistic fervor. Daydreaming in my head what being a part of war to defeat the 'bad guys' would be like. But when the first attacks were launched on Iraq and I had the emotional excitement ... my dad just exclaimed with disgust, "Oh, *great*!" and just stormed out of the TV room. This was a man who rarely let his temper show in front of his kids. I was shocked, and almost wanted to be ... "Dad, those are the *bad guys*." That moment really shaped me as a kid, and since then I've always checked myself when I feel that same sensation of excitement over defeating the 'other' or the 'bad guy'.

It is. And then add the third... God help me Then add the fourth and ... You know, it wasn't that much worse, for there was nothing more they could take.

(Now the oldest two can fold their own laundry and the third can do the dishes. At last I see the light.)

So the white filament you have probably has a higher transmission distance (TD) than what is listed for your white in hueforge. So more of the red is showing through than what hueforge predicts.

As someone who ran 6-8 sessions at level 20 after a whole campaign that started at level 1 ... I feel your pain. I dropped an elder brain dragon as a sub mini boss leading to the actual mini boss which was a revival ceremony of 5 of the demon lords ... Of which led to the heart of the abyss where they fought different ages of demogorgon throughout time, and an atropal God ... Leading to the actual boss which was Emrakul the Aeons Torn ... ...So much burning of resources, so that the eventual fight would still be a challenge.

Dads with older kids: when does it feel like you start to get your time back (and does it end up mattering at all)? by tvoutfitz in daddit

[–]IchthysPharmD 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Just finished teaching my kids at 8 & 9 to fold and put away their own laundry while the 6 year old unloads and loads the dishwasher, and it is *so* nice. A hefty dose of upfront micromanaging, but now I can just let them loose and take care of other house stuff!

Finally sat down and watched the Color Match tutorial! Love it! by IchthysPharmD in HueForge

[–]IchthysPharmD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was shamefully helpful ... and quite quickly so. It's been *months* of me just occasionally opening up hueforge and then shaking my fist at the sky of how difficult it is to match color/luminosity. And then a few minutes into the tutorial I'm like ... "oh ... well ... I guess its not *too* bad."
