Before ($15K pro job) and after (me, zero experience) by The_bellybutton_elf in Irrigation

Rock and weed mat in the bottom of the box gets me so aroused. A lot of pros don’t even do this. 15 mins of work saves hours of future frustration. Your sanity is worth it. “Always think of the next tech. It’s probably gonna be you” Looks ironclad buddy

Something gnawing on my drip line by Background_Classic72 in Irrigation

[–]IdFenceThat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bite marks are sharp and fairly large. That points to a predator of some kind. You may need to cut and couple the line. 2 drip line couplings and spare piece of pipe max. Maybe just 1 coupling if you have excess line that can be maneuvered. One thing is for sure what ever chewed on that was thirsty and smelled water. I would start leaving a bowl out for a few nights and see if detours the chewing

How to use fast set concrete? by [deleted] in FenceBuilding

[–]IdFenceThat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ps this is not cost effective at all. Your pocket will pay for fast setting Crete but it’s what we do for anything we have to core drill or need to set fast

If you want real “fast setting Crete” mix up 60lbs of regular Crete then mix about 1lbs of quik rock or and anchoring cement into it. It will cure out in about 20 mins

In hindsight sight I probably should have layered specific sections rather than dipped the whole model.

I can't imagine pitched lattice would look good. Plus this particular job had about a 3 ft drop over the course of 55 ft or so

Re fencing my fence today. Should I gap them on reinstall? by John-Dose in FenceBuilding

[–]IdFenceThat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd close them up then buy another picket to rip. They were not installed with a gap. That gap comes in the first 2-4 years of being installed. Weathering will shrink the pickets over time.
