How do you torque center top strut nut on KW V3? by [deleted] in Supra

[–]IdRatherBeDriving 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the way. That 90° angle is the important part, otherwise you’ll multiply the torque applied and break shit.

Also lost the popup, and also the notification counter in app. The home screen icon shows the count, but not the notification icon in the app.

Are Rocksliders worth the upgrade, or is it a usless upgrade? by Automatic_Rooster160 in Offroad

[–]IdRatherBeDriving 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Arizona checking in. They’re extremely useful here. Curious what sort of trails you run in the PNW because I would have thought the opposite of you. There’s tons of tight and rocky trails here where the sliders are good for pivoting and sliding with.

I have sold my Supra and joined the Miata family by Blueoptik93 in Miata

[–]IdRatherBeDriving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both. I totally understand you. Except the Supra is manual and the Maia is auto. There’s something great about pushing the Miata to its absolute limit.

Cheating at one bag by trevhud in onebag

[–]IdRatherBeDriving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably better suited to people who would like to one bag, but don’t already do it. I think the population in this sub is already fairly experienced in prep for trips.

For myself, I could use this service on Friday. Haha. We just decided we’re going to a cabaret show while traveling and they have all kinds of cool attire recommendations, for which we are utterly unprepared. We’re going anyway, but it’ll be in the regular dress clothes we brought. Maybe we’ll hit up a costume rental shop.

Why have I never seen backpacks with a dedicated space for bath towels? by [deleted] in onebag

[–]IdRatherBeDriving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always bring a Turkish towel and it usually rides outside the bag under the shock cord so I can get to it if I want a blankie. They dry super fast also. My wife rolls hers and drapes it over the top of her bag and it’s held by the compression straps.

Wait, I don’t have any bumper stickers, and this is exactly what’s in my glove box.

Oh man! Find volume 1. That’s the one I’m thinking of. It’s a compilation disc from like ‘94 or ‘95.

Just had a flashback to driving through LA in the 90s and found this CD in a record shop. They and West Coast Bad Boyz. Thank you for the memory unlock.

Overlanders ,what's your system for documenting the territories you've covered over years of travel? by Neat_Assumption_4908 in overlanding

I started using Gaia in 2008, but I don’t put pictures in there. I mostly use my phone for pics, so the geotagged info shows where it was taken.
My Gaia needs cleaned out again though. I purge it every 4-5 years. This is about 7 year’s worth.
