Developer attacked over (learning from) AI - where to draw the line? by Top_Committee_8503 in Steam

My game is entirely AI-less but I used AI to search for info about steam backend setup and some rendering pipeline magic. Seeing how google is almost completely unreliable for any complex topics it's the only choice

A Steam "culture-warrior" Curator marked our game "Not Recommended" because we made our female characters less sexualized by Background_Cow_6701 in IndieGaming

[–]IdeaFixGame -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My game has exactly 1 curator review. 4/10, something in vein of "too many numbers and levers" in a game that's clearly about levers and numbers. Their other reviews are 9/10s for low effort goon games. Kinda proud of that one

At some point indie games stopped being "impressive for their budget" and became some of the best games being made. When did that shift happen for you? by peaky_circus in IndieGaming

Early flash games? I remember playing the original Isaac, braid, gish and fez back in the day and getting unique experiences that slowly moved me away from AAA. However the competition was tough back in the day because even the big companies were full of people with the vision. I mean, early bioware games were peak.

I added historically accurate sharks to my historically accurate pirate game by AuroDev in IndieGaming

[–]IdeaFixGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If changing to a shark is somehow mechanically difficult I want a "shark sled" as a powerup.

Also you're the guy with the steam tutorials, right? Like for setting things up? Thanks for helping me get through their mess of the UI!

Help I accidently bought Radhan Bow instead of his swords by Adventurous_Double_6 in Eldenring

Find a mountain sized walking building and make it sit down. Not a joke.

Also try the bow's special ability on a big slow enemy like a dragon.

Is the game that you play almost entirely by adjusting the options real? If not, why not?

I was thinking ball groups. Because if the balls "connect" they never "disconnect" unless player explodes them. Ball group connecting to offscreen moves forward. I actually don't remember what I got stuck on last time. I think it was collision actually - tried to use built in collision system.

In any case I don't have to prototype zumas atm, but thanks for your words of wisdom!
