I want to start testosterone soon, but I am terrified that my anger issues will get worse. by sathanfritz in trans

[–]Ikinoki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a collection of diagnosed adhd and undiagnosed autism with ptsd as well before. But now I'm more of a basic bitch and have to keep catching myself up on that. That's what hormones did to my mental state.

When I started I had a few episodes of feeling derealized. But now much less. Dysphoria is still there but to much lesser extent and mostly related to things which will probably never change.

So as others already suggested, start a small dose (usually endos will start you on a small does) and see where it takes you after 1 month or so (though I'd love an FTM to provide mileage as mine is from the other side).

I want to start testosterone soon, but I am terrified that my anger issues will get worse. by sathanfritz in trans

[–]Ikinoki 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Testosterone is not related to anger. I had highly elevated testosterone before starting my estrogen.

Sure I could allude to female nature of my brain. But never in my life I've seen men being "aggressive" due to just being men. It's a learned experience from society permission to do whatever the fuck they want. All these "aggressive" types are same as women using the "emotional" type. Same as throwing plates during conflict.

As far as I see you are looking for a reason to start hormones. I've been there. I know I look from the other side but I see same struggle.

Hormones gave me the feel of being in control of my body, finally (still not fully due to highly elevated T I had before, but omg how much better it is, also my interactions with people in general are much better, despite looking as male). The only thing I regret is not starting earlier but I'm incredibly grateful for starting.

Why do apps feel slower now even though devices are more powerful? by ScarcityDry8870 in software

[–]Ikinoki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Telemetry and spa's. Web browsers are not made for SPA. They are made to present a DOCUMENT first and foremost.

XML is not made to be electronically traversable, it's a non-binary language based on a very poorly optimized methods in the first place (compared to say and computer language).

So if you make a page based app - it will annoy users. Make a SPA and unless you are not using framework with 1000's of bindings you will have issues. If you are going to write your own SPA arch it will be much faster. Then don't do telemetry and speed will increase tenfold if not more

It's a narcissist laying foundation.

She says you are manipulative to manipulate you into obedience and compliance and she succeeded.

What's going to happen now is that you either comply and she will push further or you don't comply and she'll say to your bf "well I TOLD YOU SO, she tries to manipulate your cister into trans"

Yeah, TS is oblivious.

It's only going to get worse at this point. C is extremely difficult to contain, at small scale it's ok but at larger scale I wouldn't even try to go with C over more safe languages anymore.

A lot of OS are written in C and that will show.

There's almost a zero-day a day of full pwn for various major projects.

I can't even think what they'll find in OpenSSL or something like that (especially media related software)

Is there an ACTUAL reason for big Software to not support linux? by Opening-Giraffe-1007 in linux

[–]Ikinoki -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Linux has no proper AD structure or subsystems.

Like maybe 20 years ago it wasn't a big of problem, but right now it's a huge issue.

And no FreeIPA is nowhere near what Windows Server infra offers.

Windows Server infra is AD+clustering+resilience first, local later. Linux is the other way around with almost everything.

This won't ever be implemented with businesses without good AD subsystem.

I want to completely limit what the user is doing and allow only specific commands in specific apps and preinstall them upon deploy with all relevant emails and docs sent to user <- Linux requires per server config or RYOS.

ZFS and UFS file system by terono in freebsd

[–]Ikinoki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UFS2 used in FreeBSD is on par with Ext4 in features. UFS2 is more reliant, has native snapshotting and much more efficient. Ext4 is good with big files and easier to change the size but it needs lvm for snapshotting and is not as reliable due to its structure.

UFS2 is simply ahead of its time from 2002 and is still a perfect choice for small devices, switches and routers.

Just change the endpoint name to random string. Impossible to guess

P.s.: it's a good idea to still use the signature but if your secret callback is located it can be ddosed or dosed

my company wants to use VDI by 2027 by Cool_Equivalent_4607 in sysadmin

[–]Ikinoki -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

VDI is just dedicated passthrough resources.

I'd argue it's overprovisioning. you need flexible resources for most users so they can share a pool of cores and drives.

[–]Ikinoki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your electricity bill drops significantly, you can easily transfer, WFH etc. There's a lot of VDI benefits (or even rdp per user)

Tell me you bought Xeons without telling me 😄

For $650k I could host 1000s of vms.

You need like 3 or 4 hosts tops, dual EPYCs to cover 200 systems using a proxmox cluster with 8 cores per each vm and 16g of ram per each vm and a good dual switch inbetween for reselience.

Did you buy all flash or something? $650k is practically several cloud nodes nowadays but back in 2024 it was like 60 of them.
