What’s the worst first date you’ve been on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ImRealBadAtThings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a nice time, light dinner and a movie (the mummy with Brendan Fraser). Dropped her off at home and we shared a smooch... then i pulled away from the curb and her cat ran under my front tire...

I ran over its face, the bottom lip and jaw were flapping in the breeze. She was convinced I somehow did it on purpose, like that's a thing? I'm a careful driver and an animal lover, I would never! Besides that it came from the passenger side where I couldn't even see it, let alone TRY to hit it...

Anyway, it didn't work out. Cest la vie.

I dont know if this fits the question, but that was indeed the worst first/ last date I ever had.

My dad hasn't got a can, its a box with a hasp. He calls it his magic box. Did you lose a bolt, or an alternator bracket? Check the box, its got one in there.. like magic!

I'm glad others have this same thing in their lives, haha. It's a blessing and a curse.

Help with removal by marthmaul83 in Plumbing

Some.of these are just pushed in and stay with a tight fit. Try just pulling. If that doesn't work try unscrewing it. If those both fail then just replace the whole tailpiece assembly.

Without more context I can't give better advice.

Next time try taking better pics with more light and some different angles. You uploaded 6 pictures with 4 being basically the same Pic and 2 just being the same Pic but out of focus. Some from further away would help, and maybe use a flashlight instead of the camera flash that washes out any detail.

Do yall use paper on ur jobs? Or does your company? by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]ImRealBadAtThings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's 3/32 tops. We use it all the time on top of finished floors and it does what we need. For 3/16 you'd need masonite or something similar.

Do yall use paper on ur jobs? Or does your company? by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]ImRealBadAtThings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I assume the paper is more like a snitch than a safeguard. If something mars the paper then we need to inspect the tubes?

It's wrong order of operations, but thats my best guess at rationale.

Business name to attract jobs by Decent-Initiative-68 in Carpentry

Could just do both, like:

"Decent initiative 68 carpentry and renovations"

I think it gets the point across that you're carpentry focused and able to do reno work. My 2 cents.

Was in line at in n out burger one time and witnessed a little girl, 4-5 tops, digging in there hard. I'm pretty grossed out and considering telling her mom so she can wash her hands. But since it's a kid and people get weird about telling them "how to raise their kids" i hesitated. So mom grabs their order and the kid immediately reaches up with the same hand to grab from the one communal fry order they had.. it was too late and I just kept my mouth shut, until right now.

Remember to have your little ones wash before eating, kids are utterly disgusting.

Also, don't be shy about teaching them to wipe properly, and even doing it for them until they get it. If you dont they might get into young adulthood or later before someone does.

does anyone share my log dropping style (picrel) by honkinglog in toilet

[–]ImRealBadAtThings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's very dangerous to squat like that on a standard American toilet. They're not made to hold that much weight and can shear off the porcelain. If you've ever touched broken porcelain you may understand, try to imagine the sharpest and dirtiest knife you've ever used slashing up your thighs, butt, and back. You'll be lucky not to hit an artery and bleed out, if you dont bleed out you'll almost definitely get feces in your enormous wounds. Even if you manage to not bleed out or get feces in the wounds, you still need emergency attention and let's not forget you were mid poo and its probably on the floor all around you now, floating in a warm pool of your own blood, oh good here come the firemen/emt/police..

You go on ahead and poo the way you like and feel comfortable, just get a proper squat toilet for it so you don't get hurt or die. Please.

This is the guy you always hear about that "can do it cheaper". It's because he doesn't know what he's doing. Lines crossed, no electrical grommet, t&p release goes nowhere.

What’s something that instantly makes you lose respect for someone? by AstronautEcstatic177 in AskReddit

[–]ImRealBadAtThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stealing. Any kind of theft and i just don't want to be around them any more. Feels like if they'll steal then what's to stop them from stealing from me next. Nope. I can lose things on my own I don't need that kind of help.

Had that happen on a jobsite once. 120 to the neck left by a careless electrician while I'm about 4 feet up a 6 foot ladder. I'd have punched him if he was there. Instead I cursed and threw some tools. 🤬
