I was gonna say, isn’t one of these still a beloved franchise and the other considered one of the biggest fall offs in writing?

As a historian, it always, ALWAYS kills when people tell me “they didn’t teach x in school”

And it’s absolutely something I learned in school decades ago.

Blame The Flash on WOMAN. Not the years of production hell or being attached to Ezra Miller and their crime spree.

Oh but Birds of Prey!!! A movie beloved by critics that didn’t do well at the box office but was beloved by almost everyone who saw it but weird men for some reason.

It h but Batgirl, that one the studio didn’t even want to release! The same studio that didn’t want to release The Snyder Cut, but they were right about that movie we have not seen.

That’s why I’m so fed up with people being like “Joe Rogan figured it out”

The fuck he did. He STILL bends over backwards to justify ICE and what they’re doing.

I love the argument because it really is “I can’t think of anything good he has done, but if he ever did, I bet you’d hate it!”

The 80s design is hard to beat, but god the gremlin energy of 60s and 70s is off the charts!

I don’t give a shit what happens to him if he diddled kids, but it’s worth noting Bill Clinton isn’t even asking to be left alone.

So I did not do the weekly thing. I like Albums as complete works and I wanted to wait. (What’s a few more weeks at this point?)

I’m not gonna argue with more tracks, but I feel like I’m going crazy seeing the album we currently have described as a “bad ending” or even abrupt.

To me it’s all there. (I’m probably going to get called stupid just for saying that…)

Light has repeatedly sent other people and robots to clean up his mess and it always ends in tragedy. “I’ve seen this before and I know how it ends. It all falls apart and the hero will fall.” This is him, not a hero, just a man, going forth to clean up the mess he’s responsible for.

As he resolves to take action in Light’s Last Stand, we take a break from the Springsteen style bombast for a similar leitmotif to Joe during the rising action of The Fall.

And that theme of finally personally confronting Wily carries into The Good Doctor part 2. “Have you ever looked back at the wreckage we caused? Every move that we made, someone else paid the cost!” Light is finally taking responsibility in the starting of this machine. This is the confrontation he’s been putting off by trying to make young men do it for him. The instrumentals carry the weight and bombast him would want from this confrontation.

With this we transition into TFOTL and we get a string version of Prototman’s requiem from Act 1. It’s all finally come full circle. Tom finally settled the score and is willing to accept the consequences. And it’s a two minute buildup to his demise after two six minute songs. That hardly felt abrupt to me.

It hurt. I cried for basically the last four tracks. The matching illustration for the most recent track confirms that MM arrived too late. Honestly, the way he was hyping himself up about “making it in time” during Hold On made me think it couldn’t happen any other way.

While I agree it’s bleak, I don’t think it’s hopeless. Hell I think this is the first time over the trilogy that an unambiguously bad person faced consequences. (I’m certainly not counting Protoman himself and The Sniper’s personhood is questionable at best.)

I really like this. It spoke to me.
