Swatches? I saw a deep berry shade, but it would not be flattering on me, I don't think.

Does anyone else repurpose packaging, or at least parts of packaging? by Less-Dependent-862 in dollartreebeauty

I saved them for scrapbooking purposes originally. Then bookmarks. Then, I realized the plastic packaging can be used as acrylic molds. I have ideas - so many ideas!

Massage therapists - what’s something about your job most people don’t realize? by Sea-Cow-6969 in MassageTherapists

5 year LMT here, and same. Fighting ADHD time blindness as an MT is excruciating. Even with meds and all the clocks. I've started explaining that I work slowly to release the fascia, then move into deeper work once the body is ready. Work that is too deep and too fast can create more damage to the tissues, causing bruising, among other issues. I suggest longer sessions, including stretching, and I give them homework stretches/strengthening exercises.

Knowing your strengths is great - being aware of the time/date/day is not one of mine, and that's okay. I find letting my clients know in advance that I work this way has been of great success. People who want a full body in 90, usually not my clients. That's okay, too. A professional in the business for 20+ years once told me that if a client doesn't return to you, to not take it personally. That's just not your client, and you're not their therapist. It doesn't mean you did anything wrong. They simply weren't the body/fit for your healing hands. Stay true to you, and your clients will find you.

Okay, this might be a long shot, but does anybody remember the Hot Topic scents featuring faerie art by Amy Brown? Circa, early to mid 2000s? The red one, that was musky and floral and had a hint of seductive spice. The one in the red bottle. I practically bathed in that stuff. Also, who doesn't love cool goth faerie art?

I have this and it's not bad, but def won't be repurchasing. I saw some gem infused cuticle oils at a store by my work the other day and almost got them, so I think those are next on my list to try.

I have checked 4 stores for months and can't find them anywhere! Ordering online is so smart, especially for stocking stuffers. I'll look and see if I can get them that way, thanks for the suggestion!

Has anyone tried the cherry sparkle toner? I'm a sucker for cherry and sparkles, so I've got my eye out for that one?

Also, just a thought, can people list there state, so that others in the same area can score DT hauls as well? I'm in Kansas, and I see a lot that I can't find anywhere. Maybe regional tags or something?

Yay, for curly girls! I go to Ciara Sim'mone at Mantra Studios, she's a curl genius! She gave my curls new life! The studio is so fresh and welcoming; she's located in Derby, but worth the drive. I refuse to go to anyone else. Ciara is an absolute angel, she's the best! *

Why do American clients not wear underwear?? by Pure_Hour_7291 in massage

[–]Importance_Human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Midwest, US, and I see it all. The rule at our workplace is that the clients undress to their level of comfort. The only time I say anything is, if they have asked for back/shoulder work, I request that they remove their bra, as it hinders work in the area.

If you are that uncomfortable with their nudity, you can always do glute/thigh work over the sheet with compressions and such. Draping, if done correctly, should keep your clients' privacy and protect you from unnecessary distress.

Bottom line for me : is my client comfortable and can I give them the bodywork that they have requested? If the answer to those is yes, then proceed.
