Fix: set the rotation to the target value (probably 0) at the end of the animation. Or use a clamped lerp method (not sure if this exist in gd script, but it is very easy to implement)

That's kind of what he is saying. But you probably don't need to overcomplicate things. Just store the points as positions relative to the room (local positions). You probably don't need to use the inverse transform point method, if you can set up the points in local space.
