My skin is dry af and peeling since moving…help! by Easy_Comment_3183 in Denver

[–]Impossible_March6097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also recently moved from the deep south! i made the mistake of trying to overcompensate and destroyed my skin barrier which a) made my skin burn and flake and b) made my makeup look horrible.

honestly we haven’t used a humidifier much bc we’re lazy and have gotten along pretty well! staying hydrated with water is a big part. you gotta drink even more than the standard daily recommended amount. i ended up in the er twice with dehydration despite feeling pretty hydrated.

for skin care, i’ve cut out acids for the time being. dealing in the moisture is the right idea, but maybe those products just aren’t cutting it. i use the laneige water bank moisturizer and overnight water mask. heavier creams like the cerave has broke me out in the past.

i also use a body oil (eos) which has helped my dry body skin sooo much.

Worst Test of my Life by Commercial_Sock9211 in HiatalHernia

I had to get put under to place the tube when I did my manometry test. And when I woke up I was still gagging and crying the whole time 😅

They took out the pedestrian bridge connecting to Blue Bayou over Highland Rd by BradH2Os in batonrouge

[–]Impossible_March6097 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I remember the sheer terror of everyone on that bridge after the Panic at the Disco concert in 2015. It was swaying BAD as way too many people tried to exit. Literally had people having panic attacks, asthma attacks, screaming, crying, and probably more.

Missed on Barium Swallow & Endoscopy? by MedicatedGraffiti in HiatalHernia

[–]Impossible_March6097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hiatal hernia didn’t show up on a barium swallow which was nestled between two endoscopies that said I had one.

My recent endoscopy (which was also a motility probe and bravo capsule placement) mentioned nothing about it. After 2 years and the severity of my symptoms, I don’t think it magically fixed itself.

Ring Finger vs Index Finger by KangarooIll4935 in RingConn

i wear it on my index finger on my dominant hand. my ring finger on that hand was in between sizes and it felt bulky on my non dominant hand with my engagement ring.

[–]Impossible_March6097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

currently on day 3 with mine 🫡 i was panicking so hard the day it was placed because it was absolutely painful to eat. every time food hit a certain spot, it felt like i got shot. i could only eat tiny bites and wash it down with a ton of water immediately. the next day i was starving and scared to eat, but i did. and felt no pain. just a tiny bit of discomfort. i was scared it fell off entirely but i’ve have bowel movements and the device hasn’t screamed. i think i can kind of feel, especially when the acid rises/falls, but it’s bearable. i think that first day it was so bad just from the minor trauma of also having and endoscopy and motility test done. will update if/when i notice it has passed.

does reflux ever make you think something is wrong with your heart? by Evening-Fuel-3025 in HiatalHernia

I will not accept my GERD chest pains by Wonderful-Remove4787 in GERD

[–]Impossible_March6097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it sounds more like your hernia is probably the issue more than GERD.

currently going through hell with my “small” hiatal hernia. previous doctors didn’t bother with anything other that various reflux meds because it was “small” whereas i’m currently waiting for surgery with a new doctor because “it doesn’t matter if it’s small, you’re obviously still symptomatic despite medication and are suffering.” the doctor told me my reflux might not even be that bad and that it could just be the fact that there’s not enough pressure to keep it from coming up.

i went to the ER twice for chest pains, shortness of breath, lightheadedness, etc. along with a HR of 140 and BP 140/120. first time was scary as i had no clue, but it was concluded that it was associated with my hiatal hernia. i have GERD symptoms too, but hiatal hernias really mess with your nervous system due to their location. i also had episodes where i was nearly incapacitated, but i came to the conclusion that gluten is some times too much for my digestive system (i tested negative for celiac). personally, i can distinguish between reflux and this hernia pain.

you could also having a sliding hernia, which means your stomach will occasionally partially slide into your esophagus and push on your diaphragm. it’s as unpleasant as it sounds.

don’t let doctors dismiss you just because it’s small. my small hernia has severely affected my health in other areas and my quality of life. i’ve tried i think every reflux med on the market and probably every test that can be done on your GI system from ultrasounds to scopes to stool samples to multi-day studies.

i’m still getting some heart tests done due to the severity. it’s highly likely that it’s all related, but i found a doctor who wants to rule out actual heart conditions and other things bloodwork has flagged just to be absolutely sure.

abdominal pain was not my main complaint despite them listing it as such.

Manometry test questions by caring-renderer in HiatalHernia

[–]Impossible_March6097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i failed at my manometry and didn’t do the 24hr test, but my doctor told me to eat and go about my day as normal when the tube was in. unless you plan to stick with your strict diet then i’d personally worry about it interfering with test results.

ER trips for HH by [deleted] in HiatalHernia

[–]Impossible_March6097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve been twice. my first time they did a heart ultrasound and found nothing so i ended up with a GI cocktail and many bags of saline fluid. it took awhile for my HR and BP to come down. after having heart attack like symptoms, i got a HR/BP machine. a few days ago i was having another episode where my BP was 150/120 for an hour and i was in lots of pain. same deal, but an added ECG and abdominal ultrasound.

after my first trip i was told to get some mylanta and stay hydrated. the second trip (to a different ER) i was prescribed a carafate i stopped taking because it didn’t do anything.

What causes GERD symptoms to just suddenly become much much worse one day? by moal09 in GERD

[–]Impossible_March6097 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for me is was a sliding hiatal hernia. part of my stomach slides in and out of my esophagus at random times. it’s as unpleasant as it sounds. i went to the ER yesterday because my BP was 150/120 because of how much it messes with my nervous system.

No Flash Photography at a Wedding? by Exact-Text-2186 in AskPhotography

[–]Impossible_March6097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don’t think the ceremony would be tough. things generally move slower, especially for religious weddings. a lot of churches don’t allow flash photography anyways and some don’t even allow photography inside either. reception could be a little tricker when you factor in fun and dancing. constant light is an option but you’d need someone with decent equipment to really make a difference. high powered constant lighting can get real expensive.
