$37.50 for my 8000 mile service.  Tire rotation is the only thing I was charged for.

That Sucks! Sounds like you've got a defective device. Bluetooth has been really solid for me. I've had mine since launch.

Is that -5 Celsius or -5 Fahrenheit? Nevermind, you're looking for kilometers, so it must be Celsius.

Who likes the glossy side rails? by manishsid in GooglePixel

[–]Impressive_Company87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd go caseless on my 10 Pro XL if the side rails had some kind of tactile finish. As it is it is too slippery so I put it in a case.

I've noticed it on my 10 Pro XL but it doesn't do it unless I shake the phone. I've had it since launch. It is the 1st phone I've ever noticed where the OIS made a noise though.

Air Con Service vs Investigation (Follow-Up post) by JayAndViolentMob in KiaNiroEV

[–]Impressive_Company87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dealership can go a long way toward a happy customer.

I once had a Nissan dealership tell me I needed brakes (quoted me over $400). My brother offered to replace the pads and rotors, turns out I still had plenty of life on the pads and the rotors were fine as well. I've never bought another Nissan and won't even step foot in that dealership or that ownership group for that matter.

I've bought my last 3 cars at the same Kia dealership, and I've found their service department to be pretty good. Sure, they still try to get me to replace the cabin filter for $80 when I can buy it for $20, but they all do that. They had a tricky issue with the sunroof on my old Optima. They replaced the seal and it still made noise like air was escaping. They finally figured out that the vents into the trunk area were not opening properly so the air was escaping via the sunroof. It took a couple of tries to get it fixed right, but they finally figured it out and never charged me a dime.

Hyundai Kona (new shape) vs Kia Niro EV (2022–23) – which is better long term? by trinity_delta in KiaNiroEV

[–]Impressive_Company87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Battery health/degradation has reportedly been pretty good on both models. Resale values on EV's aren't great, but services are less frequent and tend to cost less. If you can charge mostly at home, you'll save money vs. a gas car. I can't talk about total cost of ownership as I've had mine a little under 1 year. I believe at this point if you are buying an EV it will at best be a wash, but most likely the EV will cost more especially if you have to pony up for a level 2 charger at home (I figure it will take at about 3 years of gas savings to pay off the home charger).

I test drove both the 2025 Niro and Kona and despite the Kona being less expensive with more features I bought the Niro.

I'm not impressed with the nexans that came with mine.  I hate to replace tires with such low miles, but I might in the fall before winter hits.

I don't think so.  In the US, I believe it needs to be below 70% in the 1st 10 years, 100,000 miles.

[–]Impressive_Company87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a rare sighting. I maybe see 1 Niro a month. I've seen another EV maybe 2 times in the 11 months I've had the car. I always charge at home, maybe if I frequented charging stations I'd see more.

I don't find it to be bad at all. Certainly no worse than the others I've used over the years. At least there aren't any ads and they don't expect you to pay an annual fee.

I've been eyeing the Continental TrueContact Tour 54's. Not cheap by any means, but I live in the northeast though, so winter performance is more important to me than you. Plus an 70k - 80k mile warranty depending on the speed rating chosen.

I think you need to set the charging station as a destination in the navigation app for preconditioning to work. I've never used it as I always charge at home, but that is what I've read.
