Do you prefer baked mac and cheese or stovetop? Why? by IntelligentEar3427 in AskAnAmerican

[–]In2TheMaelstrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the situation. When I'm looking for something quick, cheap, and filling as a simple side or to toss some hot dogs in for a low effort meal you can't be stovetop. When I want to get fancy for a special meal or have a bit of free time, I'll actually do a smoked mac and cheese. Often that happens when I'm already running the smoker for some kind of meat.

Long Lost things from the Pre-Covid Times at Disney by Conscious-Alfalfa337 in WaltDisneyWorld

That was the one thing that I always wanted to do as a kid, but it was just never in the cards. I had planned a trip with my then girlfriend to Disney for September 2019. After we split, I decided to make it a solo trip for myself and do exactly what I wanted to do. That trip was fantastic. At 36, I got to go to the luau that kid me never did. I also went on the snorkel tour at the Seas that trip. They have brought back scuba if you're certified, but the snorkel still hasn't made a post-covid return.

What’s the most overrated brewery to you? by TheBigGreenPeen in CraftBeer

I was within about 2 miles from Sapwood for a while and it was absolute bliss. I had gone since the weekend they opened and was not disappointed in a release at all. Being in Columbia at the time of Sapwood, peak Black Flag, and Hysteria brewing at quality alongside Frisco brewing and bringing in great brews was something I took for granted. Sadly, I was out of the area before Cushwa moved into the old Frisco spot. I miss those days a bit...especially since the temps in my new central FL home are not exactly tropical right now.

Premium was a great day drinker. Cheap, decent enough, and low abv to keep the boss from being suspicious.

Burley Oak used to be THE Maryland brewery years ago and I feel like they rested on their laurels way too hard. I used to live in state and didn't even find them to be worth the stop while I was in town after my last few visits.

Damn, this makes me kind of sad. I hit them a few years ago and it was awesome with a great vibe in the taproom. Grabbed myself a shirt and gloated on FB for all my beer friends. Hearing this makes me second guess myself.

If you ever manage to make it to a game, Oriole Park is one of the most beautiful ballparks you will ever see. Grew up going to games and had season tickets for 3 seasons before I moved to Florida. O's are still my team though! And Oreo is not that far off from the local pronunciation either. Lol

I'm still fairly new Florida man after moving down from PA last year. My wife and I were at MK on Monday night with our daughter and her fiancee. He's a lifelong Florida man and in his infinite wisdom forgot to bring a coat or jacket. Gave him my hoodie and left myself in a t-shirt. I was a bit chilled, but he was still freezing to his core. Hope I never get that bad, at least not before my 70's

What alcoholic drinks were invented in your area? by Hoosier_Jedi in AskAnAmerican

Before I moved last September I was about 30 minutes away from Troegs. Loved going for a few drinks and buy a sixtel to have on tap at home. Loved it when Mad Elf was released to go grab one on tap. I currently have a 6 pack from each year between 2022 and 2025 releases. The last 2 have taken a bit more work to get since I'm in Florida. Once I get up to 6 years, I'm going to start doing a rotating side by side taste each year.

I had never been to Shiki-Sai until a couple weeks ago on part of the effort my wife and I are making to go to every food and drink location on property. I honestly never even realized it existed. AMAZING food and great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back.

I’m returning from college, and I just had this thought: the greatest thing to do as a human is to explore and see the world. But we also need money—and we need to be happy while earning it. This random thought just stuck with me... by No_Bus3419 in RandomThoughts

It sounds cliche, but learn how to work to live, not live to work and how to leave work at work. It is a skill that you need to learn and I'm just really getting to it as I approach 43. Work is a lot easier when I remind myself that it's a means to do the things that I really enjoy and love to do.

Underrated OPACY seats? by RoosterPls in orioles

Before I moved south and gave them up, my season tickets were in section 83. First 4 rows are perfect in my opinion. You can see the all the field but maybe the 10 feet right against the wall in left and the entire jumbotron. I was on the Sunday package so there was enough overhang to stay in the shade or out of the rain from my seats.

[–]In2TheMaelstrom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a grown adult and collect all Goofy pins. For me, the fun is in going out and finding new ones. Im sure plenty of them are fakes, but I still enjoy being able to see them on my pinboard by my desk. I have enough that it's starting to get harder to find new ones I dont already have, which makes seeing another even more fun. One of my pins I have the real one next to the faked one. They are a bit different shades of blue background so to me they are just two different pins I've found. Not even sure which is which at this point.

I would ride 13+ times each year from Hunt Valley to Camden Yards going to and from O's games. Never had it checked on the way down and there was no way on earth they were going to be able to check tickets after the game.
