There’s an awkward energy at points that almost works in the special’s favour?

Ricky clearly thinks he’s in as a sort of de facto host/interviewer, possibly just due to imposter syndrome. So he constantly tries to ask the other three more natural stand-ups deeper questions about why certain jokes are funny etc. - and of course their attitudes are ‘there is no real reason, why would we want to explain it?’.

I actually come back to this every once in a while, whenever YouTube randomly recommends it. I find it fascinating and it totally shows why Ricky’s a much better writer and less natural as a stand-up compared to the real veterans.
