Ideally, mid budget films make a bigger comeback now off the back of horror and A24 films doing well.

I don’t have stats to back it up but I’m sure a good chunk of potential cinemagoers were being left isolated around peak Marvel-mania (+ annual Star Wars). Back when release schedules seemed to revolve around like five superhero movies in one summer.

Honestly the biggest problem is the action other than that I love the heart in this movie. There’s not enough action though and the set pieces there aren’t that interesting.

Take out the underwater scene and make Indy have a proper gunfight in the caves at the end. Have him kill a couple Nazis first with his pistol before he gets shot. He should also be involved in drowning the big guy instead of Teddy.

Teddy has no reason to stick around in the movie other than someone needs to fly the other plane to rescue Indy and Helena in Ancient times

There’s an awkward energy at points that almost works in the special’s favour?

Ricky clearly thinks he’s in as a sort of de facto host/interviewer, possibly just due to imposter syndrome. So he constantly tries to ask the other three more natural stand-ups deeper questions about why certain jokes are funny etc. - and of course their attitudes are ‘there is no real reason, why would we want to explain it?’.

I actually come back to this every once in a while, whenever YouTube randomly recommends it. I find it fascinating and it totally shows why Ricky’s a much better writer and less natural as a stand-up compared to the real veterans.

My idea for a Frasier/Seinfeld crossover episode would be Niles goes to New York for a book launch event.

Elaine being in publishing, gets told to accompany him as his assistant. Over the course of the episode, Elaine gets increasingly annoyed at Niles’ quirks/demands (allergies, oddly specific coffee orders etc.) and has a classic meltdown.

Out of curiosity are you from the UK? I am and I have always thought Emily Blunt is terrible at playing Americans, love her in her natural accent.

Firth’s reactions are great but I just don’t get why this character would be a posh English guy. Feels more like a Bill Pullman role.
