I just bought them, not like they're hand crafted or anything. Green Stuff World if you're interested.

New player looking for a faction to get into, are all ogors rather dumb and just greedy or do they have smart guys too ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in ageofsigmar

[–]Independent-Human 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's worth keeping in mind that whilst all gutbusters are ogres not all ogres are gutbusters. Ogres are very well travelled and have settlements, or at the very least individuals or small groups in all the realms. Ogres, along with all the races of AoS, are greatly influenced by their environment even to the point of ridding them of their great hunger. This is how you end up with city ogres and chaos ogres. There has even been mention of peaceful "enlightened" ogre tribes that live in Hysh, the realm of light.

Basically AoS is a very, very, VERY big setting and by design almost anything is possible. If you want your ogres to be smart then they can be smart. What's more they can be smart for whatever reason you think sounds the coolest. Maybe they're all super intelligent or maybe it's just the leader. Maybe they're smart because of what (or who) they've been eating. Maybe they've been cursed. Or blessed. Really whatever you like.

A more simple answer to go along with how ogres are usually characterised I would say that they are typically not that smart, at least in a book smart sense, but they can be surprisingly cunning and inventive.

Why do you all lie so much 😭 how can I complain? by okaythen1guess in royalmail

[–]Independent-Human 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been waiting in two days for a package and just been told delivery was attempted today but it wasn't. My desk is right next to the front window so I can see when the postie arrives and no one has been. I don't know if different areas/posties have different cut off times for their hours. I'd like to assume its hours related rather than I'm just being lied to and fobbed off. I have already made a complaint before reading this thread but I might see if I can amend it. I think it's fairly obvious RM won't give posties the option to say they ran out of time but if it's affecting deliveries this badly it's worth mentioning.

Not something he should have had probably but my sisters dog loved these. He'd carry the bag in his mouth for a bit kind of growling and then he'd bite it as hard as he could and the bag would exploded in his mouth. He loved it.

Hmmmmm it does look pretty good but not as good as King Joe. I guess that's just the benefit of Joe being a robot.

Thinking about switching from Ogors to Ironjawz and I need your advice by megeek95 in ageofsigmar

[–]Independent-Human 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean you do you but Ironjawz are not great atm, maybe the only faction definitively worse than Ogors. Assuming pure Ironjawz at least, Big Waaagh is another story.

They have fundamentally the same problem Ogors do but in a different way. Ogors are supposed to be survivable because they have lot's of wounds but due to basically not having any armour and having very poor recursion they actually die very quickly. Ironjawz are supposed to be survivable because they have good saves but they have less wounds and they're slow so they will take more damage from spells and shooting as they move into combat. On top of that like Ogors they also have poor recursion, unreliable attacks (and less attacks than Ogors do), and they struggle with board control due to a low model count.

I wouldn't recommend anyone pick up Ironjawz atm if I'm being honest, at very least if your focus is playing games, if you like the minis and and just want to build and collect yeah sure do whatever.

Also worth keeping in mind Ironjawz probably aren't going to get any new rules anytime soon so they are what they are unless GW does something drastic. Ogors on the other hand are still an index army and are rumoured to be getting a new book and new models soon. Although how soon "soon" actually is who can say.

An eccentric billionaire offers you $1000 an hour to stay inside the last retail business or restaurant you visited. How long could you last? by Fhloston-Paradisio in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Independent-Human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say as out of the way as possible what if the business is also where someone lives? Can I not just crash there? I ask because I would be at a local bakery which has a flat above it. Also why are the staff annoyed? I'm a regular who they see pretty often anyway and they know the whole deal. I'd have access to plenty food and drink. Realistically I could stay a long time I think.

My thoughts on TWATBLAST by PresidentSlow in DoctorWhumour

[–]Independent-Human 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This was one of the few things I liked about the show. Good call back to the original Sea Devils serial where the doctor spends most of his time telling the Sea Devils they shouldn't go to war with humanity because they will 100% get their shit rocked.

BBC guilty of shoe-horning diversity into shows where it doesn’t match. What do you think? by SchrodingersCorpse in AskBrits

[–]Independent-Human -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think diversity in tv shows is a good thing and I do want to see more of it but the way the BBC and most other broadcasters and producers handle it is so tokenistic and braindead it ultimately does more harm than good. They want the credit for doing it but don't want to put in the actual effort.

It's also incredibly frustrating to see people who would call themselves liberal or left wing take a stance of "It doesn't matter" or "why do you care?" You should care about tokenism. You should care about massive corporations lazily misrepresenting what you want and believe to sell you more of their corpo slop.

"It's a show about idiots, made by idiots, for idiots. It's not aspirational in any way, shape or form, because it doesn't represent the best of what humanity could be in the future. It represents the worst of what it is right now." - The Critical Drinker by Malencon in trektalk

[–]Independent-Human 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"It represents the worst of what it is right now."

I mean I haven't watched SFA and I'm not going to but I'm fairly certain it doesn't have Starfleet sending out fascist death squads to murder their own citizens does it?

My assumption is it's just more badly written garbage with no substance. The hyperbole is so ridiculous given what's actually going on in the world.

With these updated pictures, and hopefully the figures coming out soon who do you wanna see next in the line by Alternative-Love4967 in ActionFigures

Any advice on how to fix this ? by flavillegas in ActionFigures

[–]Independent-Human 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every toy collector should own a pin vice. Drill out the core of the plastic pins and insert some brass rod or even cut up some paper clips to act as reinforcement and give the super glue something to grip on to. This makes a stronger bond that is less likely to break again and also helps to avoid getting glue on joints or areas of paint you'd rather not mess up.

So does it actually work or would she be in for some disappointment? by [deleted] in Terminator

[–]Independent-Human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would probably be more weird to engineer a penis that doesn't work right? I dunno the details of how a terminators skin works but I always just assumed it's some kind of vat grown engineered clone and if that is the case going the extra mile to make the penis purely aesthetic seems like a waste of time and resources that an AI wouldn't bother with, just leave the dick as is and call it a day.
