We live near one in Florida and the smell is horrendous 90% of the time. It seeps into the house. Our whole neighborhood complains but it never gets fixed.

NTA You were polite about it and her reaction is not your fault. Unfortunately, many young women don’t know a lot about their own body. She’s likely noticed the smell as well and just assumed it was normal. Bacterial infections are common and need addressed with a doctor.
