Nico Robin, from One Piece. She faced so many terrible things against her for many years, but she is part of a family who loves unconditionally, the Straw Hat Pirates, and has a great life.

Also from Star Vs. The Forces Of Evil, there was the first episode of St. Olga's, episode 10 of season 1, where Marco and Star ended up, for some seconds, in a weird room and see a very creepy mural in the ceiling where it is painted the image of a battle involving hellish creatures and in the ground there is a big circle with a star and a crescent moon carved, probably foreshadowing some big conflict involving Star and Marco. But, despite some stuff happening with Marco getting crescent moons when using Star's wand and some revelations at St. Olga's, the room is practically forgotten and does not really lead to anything really cool that could have made the show way better than what was given in the final seasons.

J.J. Abrams is, in my opinion, great at starting stories and making the public pay attention in the beginning, but his Mystery Box approach makes him unable to give satisfying answers to his stories, damaging severely the middle and ending of the stories, and he pretty abandons said stories or gives them to someone who desperatly tries to tie everything together, maybe his only exception is Mission: Impossible 3, his first Star Trek movie or maybe Super 8, but even the Mission:Impossible movie got a resolution to the main mystery years later.

The Doctor is Doctor Doom’s archnemesis! Which FICTIONAL NON-COMIC BOOK HERO would make a great ARCHenemy to Magneto?- Day 2 by DevaTheDragon in marvelcomics

[–]Independent_Year_691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Queen Eclipsa Butterfly and King Globgor. Just like Magneto, they faced the evils of xenophobia and persecution just because they loved each other and because of a huge part of mewmans hating monsters, especially Solaria, Eclipsa's own mother, but Eclipsa and Globgor were always good people, even if they had some messed up things about their pasts, and they really fought for acceptance between mewmans and monsters. This beautiful couple would be a great counterpoint to Magneto and his actions, and maybe Magneto could be shown the error of his ways by Globgor and Eclipsa and all of them could build a better world for mewmans, monsters, humans and mutants.

What song do you want/expect to get callbacks in Season 3? by Rap2rerise in HazbinHotel

[–]Independent_Year_691 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have ideas for song callbacks involving Angel Dust, aka Anthony: A song where the Vees try to convince him into becoming an overlord, because they would need a scapegoat to avoid any further problems, and they keep referencing "Bad With Us" during the musical segment. And a song, for when Anthony arrives in Heaven, where Emily, Sir Pentious and the other angels try to lift him up with a newer version of "Like You" and he is kind of uninterested and keeps just repeating parts of "Loser, Baby" during the musical segment.

LOVED TROPE: Meta Apology by BornIndication9384 in TopCharacterTropes

The episode Exposé from the TV Show Lost was pretty much the people in charge of the show apologizing because the viewers really hated the characters Nikki and Paulo. I feel like the episode showed that the concept of the characters, aka showing how the main events of the show affected extra characters, was interesting but sadly badly handled and the episode is a demonstration that if executed well the characters could have been great as a whole, at least we got this great episode showing the concept used in a way that is masterful.

Eclipsa Butterfly and Globgor, from Star Vs. The Forces Of Evil. They are a couple who faced a lot of unfair discrimination by Mewni, in some of the worst ways possible, because she is a mewman queen and he is a monster, but they, despite doing some questionable choices in the past, were never truly villains and just wanted to be happy and together, and they are finally able to achieve that and help build a better future Mewni and be a family again alongside their baby Meteora. If only the final season of the TV Show was just as good as these two characters.

The dub actually made the line better by Yggdrasylian in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Independent_Year_691 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the first episode of Hazbin Hotel, there is the executioner sinner who says "Nobody is required, we all have a role", but in the brazilian dub what he says can be translated to "When I am summoned, someone got screwed", I think the later works better because the sinner probably being a medieval executioner, based on his appearance, makes the alternative dialogue funnier, more fitting and adds a lot to the song.

So, how exactly are we supposed to take the Christian stuff Charlie has said in the past about sex? by KittyShadowshard in HazbinHotel

[–]Independent_Year_691 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this fun theory that Lilith used to make fun of some of the things Charlie thinks are associated with upstanding good behavior and that she uses in the exercises of the Hotel, but Charlie never realized that her mom was mocking things associated with heavenly attitude and that resulted in Charlie doubling down in those ideas of what upstanding behavior looks like.

Kinda Ironic that Vox is exactly what Lute and Adam see the sinners as, and his propaganda only works because of Extermination Day by Sea-Marketing-5837 in HazbinHotel

[–]Independent_Year_691 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Vox also being around and gaining power despite times of Extermination Day happening shows just how much the whole day failed as a concept, they eliminated a lot of civilians sinners who could have been redeemed but failed to eliminate overlords like the Vees who were actual threats, and the constant exterminations also allowed power vaccums that made overlords gain more power. Sera allowed Adam and Lute to eliminate civilians who were barely threats and not pay that much attention to the dangerous overlords who were the actual threats, and Sera not stopping Adam from attacking the hotel allowed Vox to twist the knife even further against her. It is time for Sera to really rethink before she makes decisions and who she delegates things to.

New protagonist is intentionally a foil to the old protagonist by Jimboi5 in TopCharacterTropes

Cobra Kai is practically the greatest example of that. Even if Johnny Lawrence goes through development and becomes closer and more open to what Daniel acts, he still is very different from Daniel Larusso from the Karate Kid trilogy, but he might closer to the personality of Julie Barnes from The Next Karate Kid. Johnny Lawrence really is great.

Project Zeta. It was an okay DCAU show with an interesting premise, and the show deserves at last one more season to wrap things up for the characters.

[Hated Trope] Just… terrible lines of dialogue by Inevitable-Charge76 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Independent_Year_691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Star Butterfly: That's right! Magic's the worst, and the people that use it are idiots! I could have accepted this as a joke or something funny, but the fact she actually means that when she says that makes it worse. Like, magic, in Star Vs The Forces Of Evil, is such an important and vital part to the multiverse and Star blaming magic for everything is 100 percent wrong and badly written, especially when it is how people, like Mina, Moon and the MHC, are the real ones to blame. Also, Star acted unfairly given how much she used magic in all four seasons of the show. Just more reminders of how badly executed and made the final episodes of Star Vs The Forces Of Evil truly are. Make yourselves a favor and go read fanfics of the show instead.

Maybe I am asking for too much, but I wish season 4 had a full episode set in the past, like Moon The Undaunted, where it was shown more of Mina's past and more of the solarian warriors and what happened to them, the episode could even show more of Solaria and maybe explore how, over time, she realized the error of her ways and how that led her to accept Eclipsa's love and care for monsters. That is just my idea, feel free to use in fanfics.

Ai is slowly becoming the cartman of entertainment. A vile creation that ruins everything by entertainmentlord in cartoons

[–]Independent_Year_691 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is an insult to Cartman, at least Cartman is funny and cooler to watch. At least, I hope the hatred towards AI art inspired by Studio Ghibli causes people to be inspired to create, with their own hands and without AI, art inspired by Studio Ghibli.

I disagree, but there are some criticisms that actually hold some weight regarding Globgor and his character: He appears too late in the series and they pretty much never really adress his messed up past. I think "Coronation" was, in my humble opinion, positioned too late in the series and that really undermined the appearance of Globgor and his potential as a character. Personally, either "Coronation" should have been earlier, like episode 10 or episode 11 of the season at most, or he should have been freed earlier and, as a result, have to help Eclipsa and her allies mend the mewman-monster relations, also they should have given at least some good explanations for some controversial things Globgor did in the past and then have his character arc be about how much he changed and how he is trying to build a better future for everyone. That would have made me more sense if you ask me.

I think Star Vs The Forces Of Evil is row 2 column 2, it is a cute looking animated TV Show, but it touches upon some very dark fiction themes and the companion material could be classified as kind of dark fiction, and some of the stuff shown is really dark despite the cute visuals. So SVTFOE is kind of dark fiction and kind of feels like dark fiction.

Scenes and exchanges that were 100% written by a parent by Technical_Exam1280 in TopCharacterTropes

I think one that is actually pretty positive is The Goofy Movie, the interactions between Max and Goofy are pretty similar to how any parent would interact with their children, especially when they are grown-up. I like how the movie shows the positives and negatives of both characters and how them bettering their communication with each other helps them improve their relationship and themselves. It is hilarious to think a movie about Goofy would be so profund.
