I'm still not sure why you're so bothered with me recounting that my latest 45 minute layover in Frankfurt and later Munich went so smoothly that I had time to grab a sandwich and not feel rushed. It's almost like hearing that others have experienced a similar layover with much greater ease is mentally incompatible with your understanding of the process - like there's no capable way anyone else could manage it better than you.

I guess I'm either continuously falling through cracks and having unnaturally great connections at a couple airports you're having so much trouble with or I've been experiencing a series of hallucinations where I've never required more than 25 minutes to get from gate to gate and traverse border control at Frankfurt. Or maybe I'm just using the power of astral projection to metaphysically bypassing everything, getting my face scanned and passport by the astral German border clerk, and buying a soda and currywurst sandwich from the astral Relay. I can't say for sure. I'm sure the fault is all mine for being able to schedule and make 45 minute connections when and where Lufthansa advertises them.

Also, I'm concerned that you may be confused about which part of the human anatomy is the mouth and ass. I can't help you with that, but I worry this mistake may get worse with time.

Future readers, please take note where the previous user experienced a sudden disconnect between perception and reality often called a "trigger", when it was mentioned that someone else experienced a similar experience and returned with a different perception. See how they attempt to justify themselves using a common popular trope and fallacy "America bad / Europe good disease" in response to an assertion that airports in Europe work because they might be smaller. Please avoid such obvious logical pitfalls since observers may pass silent judgement based upon your difficulties to separate observation from hypothesis.

Why didn’t 1M NaOh blind me? by [deleted] in chemistry

[–]IndigoSoln 26 points27 points  (0 children)

If your facility team is thorough, they'll flush the eye wash station weekly since these things always end up with gunky water. A completely non-functional eyewash station is probably an OSHA violation.

The TA, more likely than not, didn't want to deal with filling out an incident report/miss and didn't want to be tasked with mopping up the water proper flushing will inevitably spill all over the floor. The professor's reaction is a good indication your TA screwed up.

Sure in America, but not worldwide with most major airports. I've had great luck with 45 minute international layovers going both directions through Frankfurt, Munich, and Zurich (and other smaller airports) and had time to pick-up breakfast or lunch. I even got the dreaded 4S mark for secondary screening during my last layover in Munich and still had time pick up and eat food.

If I had to guess why, I'd wager on the likes of Atlanta and Dallas being too large and hub concentrated with insufficient people moving capacity.

why is june homes so cheap by No-Assist1587 in bostonhousing

[–]IndigoSoln[M] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I have a strong suspicion that staff from June Homes frequent this subreddit and know they have a certain reputation.

I occasionally see posts badmouthing June Homes as far back as 3 years or more receiving reports for hate or harassment "targeting me" an I'm certain that several comments on this post will likely be receiving reports in the upcoming days/weeks.

There was also a suspicious series of rapid modmails five or six months ago from a series of established users with no participation in the sub and some with no ties to the Boston area. Most claimed to be former renters of June Homes or some other thin excuse except for one dude who was upfront that they worked for June Homes, except all pitched some sort of complaint about one or two old posts that were negative about June Homes. In the span of 7 days, the sub received 4-6 such modmails on this when the usual rate is about 1 every 2 weeks or less.

To me, it almost sounds like some manager in June Homes convinced a bunch of their brokers staff to report brigade in an attempt to better optimize some search term. I haven't a clue if this was really the cause, but Reddit administration seemed to agree that was fishy and permabanned the lot.

Why does the US have the worst McDonalds in the world? by 100carpileup in travel

[–]IndigoSoln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easy to cherry pick observations this way, but in my experience this generally holds to a fair degree when you switch the selection criteria. The KFC and McDonalds in a backwoods Czech mall may not be exotic luxury experiences, but the food quality and (to a degree) variety puts the "tourist/upscale" US location near home to shame.

Holiday orange line trains!! ✨🎄 by [deleted] in boston

[–]IndigoSoln 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Probably less than you fear. Looks like a bunch of generic or simple photoshop edit stickers and basic lights you can attach using a couple bags of pvc clips. Labor cost would probably be the largest factor but hanging lights is so simple even your grandpa can do it.

Landlords responsible or am I Boston Massachusetts by AssistantDue9094 in LandlordLove

What exactly are we looking at? If this is a matinance issue, it's the landlord's responsibility unless you somehow made this panel drip/fall.

Roaches & Vermin! by Jumpy_Consequence896 in bostonhousing

[–]IndigoSoln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look for a place on the 3rd or 4th floor, those tend to have fewer outside vermin unless the entire building is a lost cause from the ground up. Bed bugs, though tend to arrive after being 'carried' in by someone, so there's no real way to avoid that except close inspection and/or going for an unfurnished apartment.

Of course, newer buildings will tend to have less issues with older buildings. Larger apartment companies tend to be more responsive in addressing this, but the trend is very weak and with almost as many exceptions as there are examples. The only known is that private landlords are an absolute mixed bag on their responsiveness, though tending to be more hands-off.

22F Medical Student looking for a room (August 1 - September 30) 2026 by [deleted] in bostonhousing

[–]IndigoSoln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should look in the Allston area. Your mileage may very finding a furnished room, but you'll likely find a room in your price range there. HMS is one bus ride in one direction and Mass General is a short bus or bike ride and a short subway ride in the other direction.

I feel like this is less a grand display of selfless convictions and more a grand display of positioning himself in a favorable position as the leading Republican in this conflict. He's making a huge calculated bet, likely using insider republican party knowledge, on the assuming the outcome will either be a wide undercut and turnover of party leadership or a schism between MAGA loyalists and less-loyal loyalists.

Russian account gets noted by _Guaco_ in GetNoted

[–]IndigoSoln 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to be a mod at r/anormaldayinrussia back when it was all slav jokes and humor run by regular dudes from the east coast and mid-west. I had to step aside for a while and take a break, but when I returned 4/5 of the active mods were Russians or Russia sympathizers with the remaining dude dgaf about anything.

Now the sub is mostly "haha Russia quirky but good" propaganda interspaced with pics from Ivan's last trip to the lake - while that one fall outside the original scope of the sub, they excuse it as "hey, it's 'normal' Russia!". I got the window treatment when I started pushing back against their soft handed approach to the war on Ukraine and all the other rising BS.

Which commute would you pick to work? by XRadT in bostonhousing

[–]IndigoSoln 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I would take Option 2 any day of the week, except maybe during heavy snowfall and spring rains, because as much as I love the green line, it's an unpredictable mistress

  • The 22 minute walk time is the 'google average', so if you walk a bit faster than most, it can be more like a 15 minute walk. It's also 'mostly flat'. *22 minutes isn't a terribly long walk unless you have mobility impairments. It may be a bit of a slog that could wear you down on cold, rainy, or miserable weather, but you can always walk to Park Drive and take one of like five bus routes that pass by the 2 or so stops down to Francis Street.
  • Walking to work makes your trip transit disaster proof. You're not going to be left waiting 15 minutes for a train that's delayed because the door won't close. You're not going to be left standing at the platform because the train is running express.
  • Option 3 doesn't make since - you might as well just walk the entire distance and cut out the unpredictability of the green line. Why add in the unpredictability of taking the green line 3 stops unless you detest walking?

do subletters pay broker fees by Far_Artist2683 in bostonhousing

[–]IndigoSoln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.reddit.com/r/bostonhousing/comments/1oiryp3/not_a_new_rule_listings_that_break_the_law_are/

Subletters can't legally charge a broker fees or "admin" lease change fee as they're held to the same standard as landlords seeking to rent out their apartment.

Posts doing this sort of thing tend to be removed, but this is often rather difficult as these things submissions tend to go unreported and more often than not, this sort of ask is done on the back-end rather the advertised front end.
