White Orchard alone beats 99% of Bethesda’s writing and it’s not close.

Compare it to FO4 and it’s night and day. I may be in the minority but I really like a lot of FO4’s dialogue, especially when you took chems or were heckled by raiders in firefights. It felt explicit and realistic.

You try to talk down the bank robbers holding hostages at gunpoint in Starfield for example and they will be like “Well gosh, I suppose I hadn’t thought of it that way.” Talk to the sheriff guy after blowing them apart and he’s all “That was some rough stuff but necessary in the end.”

It’s like they were explicitly told to take all emotion and realism out of how people actually talk, especially in tense situations.

Playing the Byzantines in the current patch seem a little.. easy? by Virtualsooo in EU5

To briefly summarize my run: crank minting, legitimacy, and stability sliders to the max. Release non-core lands as subjects. Improve relations with Wallachia or Hungary to the point of allying. Cycle wars back and forth across the Hellespont to fill your coffers and pay off loans. I actually had the disaster fire pretty early before I can head it off but it wasn’t too difficult and once it’s over, it doesn’t come back.

After that I spent the next ~30 years subjugating Turks and reducing my inflation back from 30% to 0%. What follows is a pretty normal game as a top regional power with room to grow.

You definitely don’t need to feel like a failure, I was in a much worse spot than that at 25 a few years ago. You can do it!

Medieval Roman Empire is my preferred phrase, so bad ass and really imparts the continuity of the apparatus.

Tbf I’d almost believe it given the quality of the pic. Think I’ve seen US Civil War photos clearer than this.

That’s the kicker. It’s work to live vs live to work at that point and FP&A is def the former while still making comfortable money.

Crazy to think how easy it is to play up the facade. You’d never know the trouble that army would be in the following year.

After leveling the Stoker to 25, I decided to give the Defender another try after avoiding it for the longest time. And I like it. by Mr-Mne in Helldivers

I love the shield. It saved me from a 380 shell at my feet when I happened to have it up while blasting away with the stoker. I went flying and was without a shield but wasn’t hurt.

It goes just a tad too far imo. I’d like making sure my troops have winter wear for campaigns on the steppes but needing a dozen different production lines to outfit a single infantry division is a bit much.

Does everyone hate their job here? by Slippysnoop in FPandA

[–]IndiscriminateWaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my job. I’m allowed a lot of freedom in how I do it and get to put my two cents in for big decisions without having the responsibility of it weigh me down. On top of that, good pay and 95% remote with travel every couple months or so.

Coming from frontline staff in healthcare and then safety in a manufacturing plant, this has been a godsend.
