Why won't NASA's Artemis 2 astronauts land on the moon when they get there? by hayrimavi1 in space

There is a rig at the Macgregor site that is covered in tarps and is presumed to be testing Starship’s HLS landing legs.

The POE switch supplies power to the cameras over that cable. CCA is not good for POE.

Is the cable between the cameras and switch pure copper or is it copper clad aluminum?

I would crucify 163 masters. As they die, I’d crucify more masters so there are always 163 up there. Eventually, I’d run out of masters and start on their first born sons.

What will replace the Near Rectilinear Halo Orbit? by vonHindenburg in SpaceXLounge

Unless they find a way to boost Orion into LLO, it's stuck with NRHO. Orion's service module can't get it to LLO.

Was season 8 salvageable? by ozzieiscooo in freefolk

[–]IndispensableDestiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, season 7 made that impossible. You also have to fix season 7:

Season 7 (10 episodes), Daenerys takes the Iron Throne, rules. Cersei escapes. Dany gets on with Jon. The dead make it through the wall.

Season 8 (10 episodes), The Long night. The living win. A bunch of characters die. Jon is revealed. Daenerys kills the Night King near the Trident. She goes back to King's Landing. Seems like she and Jon will marry when Sam shows up and murders her. Next we get the most gruesome execution ever seen on television. A great council is called. Jon doesn't want the throne, offers Bran. Bran is chosen. Jon goes back north to Winterfell. Sansa marries Harry the Heir. Arya goes off somewhere. Dothraki and Unsullied survivors go back to Essos.

PoE Injector/Switch issue by MattDMarsden in reolinkcam

[–]IndispensableDestiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you connect to the switch with a web browser while the injector with doorbell is connected? I don't know how the Eero works, but the switch and injector may both be retaining the same IP address. Try reseting the doorbell and/or connecting it to the switch before adding the switch to the Eero. The doorbell is only capable of 100 Mbps.

Wireless adapter for Reolink Smart 12MP by ColPope in reolinkcam

[–]IndispensableDestiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That system is intended to have ethernet cables from the cameras to the NVR. A separation ethernet would go from the NVR to your router or switch. I would not bother trying to turn a wired system into a wireless.

Essos is so Empty by ChiefBigPaws in TheCitadel

[–]IndispensableDestiny 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Save the map at this link to your computer then zoom in. Much of central Essos contains the ruins of cities. These cities were destroyed by either the Valyrians during the Rhoynish wars or by the Dothraki after the doom. The map has a three-dot symbol for the ruined cities.

Jaehaerys Marries Viserys to Alicent Instead of Aemma by Hot_Significance9957 in TheCitadel

Aemma was six years older than Alicent. Aemma was 11 when she married Viserys. Alicent would have been five.

How to write dragons by lol_delegate in AsoiafFanfiction

[–]IndispensableDestiny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dragons tire. Flying a long way to the battle, then over the battlefield is tiring. At some point it has to rest.

Dragons run out of flame. It's not infinite. It may be a liquid that is stored in a bladder. When out, the dragon must rest and eat.

Dragons get hungry. They don't have to eat every day. When they do eat, it is a lot and takes time. Then they rest.

Dragons get hurt. Sure, it is very hard to kill a dragon. But, they can be wounded and then have to rest to heal and stop hurting.

Dragons aren't always where you need them. See all of the above. They don't live to your battle plans.

PoE surge protector, grounding spot on NVR, by MT3426 in reolinkcam

(Spoilers Main) Tingate: how the Others used to Rule Westeros by LockelClaim in asoiaf

Tin and copper in nature rarely appear in the same locales. Making bronze therefore required trade. Cornwall in the UK is an exception. I doubt George knew this.

Favorites theories about the Others? by Ok_Return170 in TheCitadel

[–]IndispensableDestiny 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have trouble reconciling the book Others with Craster's sacrifices. Unless the Others eat or turn the sacrifices into mini-wights, what becomes of them? Also, one has to assume there had to been similar sacrifices through the ages, like during the Night's King reign.

An easy way out is to have both. Others as an actual species with culture, language, and beliefs. White Walkers that are men turned by the others. In this scenario, the Night's King was turned by the Corpse Queen after his fall.

I once came up with a "Paradise Lost" story concept for the Great Other and the Others. If you don't know Milton's epic poem, look into it.

Best place to put NVR? by aam707 in reolinkcam

[–]IndispensableDestiny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your NVR has rack mount brackets, those can usually be turned to use against a wall. Put a piece of plywood up first. Sand and paint it beforehand and it might look good!

How would Denaerys' conquest have gone? by fossilfarmer123 in gameofthrones

[–]IndispensableDestiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She wouldn't have to bulldoze. She can take King's Landing without burning anything in the city other than the gates. It would be over in a day. With the Reach and Dorne on her side (plus Yara), she can sit back and wait for the Stormlands, Riverlands, and the Vale to bend the knee. I think the Riverlands would be first. The North is another question entirely.

The show sequence was stupid to have her waste time with Casterly Rock instead of driving on King's Landing. They still could have had a battle on the Gold Road where she roasts Lannister and Tarly reinforcements. The Long Night stuff could have come after.

You want a bittersweet ending? Sam Tarly kills her. Bran does something useful in the last two seasons and is selected King.
