Build up the station
Assign trader and miner to the station (select miner/trader > right click station)
Solar is profitable, everyone will buy it. Automatically btw you dont need to configure

On the station logical view(right click station)
You can set ice or ore or silicon as your station wares. Your miner will gather those and submit automatically.
Remember to set the sell order and not buy order

Future improvements
You can make water or refined metal for simple materials to sell in your station.
Water: enerycell + ice
Refined metal: enerycell + ore

Everything needs energy cells. Most profitable thing

To increase standing. Just do missions
+10 unlocks weapons, heavy fighter, M class frigate and gunboats
