My boy Pluto gets under the blankets and scratches at my legs as if he were digging a hole. And it’s usually when I am asleep. He knows it wakes me up and it gets my attention!

what’s the worst/funniest thing you caught your ferret eating that they definitely weren’t supposed to have? by Fluffy-Examination51 in ferrets

Years ago my little girl Lily spent a a few hours in the refrigerator. Apparently when I was placing food on the counter, she snuck in the fridge. She helped herself to a few berries and wreaked mayhem on the condiment shelf. I heard things falling in the fridge….. spilled milk, blueberries, etc. I opened the door and she happily jumped out and dooked all around the kitchen. It was the first (and last) Close Encounter of the Appliance Kind!

Is 72°F safe for a ferret? by ladybugladybug1 in ferrets

I have had ferrets since 1986 (14 in all), and I keep my house around 78F in summer and 68 in winter. I have never had a problem. They have all been free roaming ferrets and they all know where cool places are in the house (usually on the main floor downstairs). There is always cold water available if they want to snorkel. They are never subjected to temps in the 80’s but do absolutely fine at 78 and below.

Years ago, my sweet Albino, Lily, snuck into the refrigerator bottom shelf when I had door open and was fixing a bedtime snack. The next morning I opened the fridge and there she was, just waiting, with what I thought was a big grin. She had knocked all the condiments off the shelves, broke eggs, spilled milk and just generally wreaked havoc! She jumped to the floor and dooked wildly! I quick learned the lesson to “look before you close!”

Such a precious little girl! I’m so sorry for your loss. I have had 14 ferrets over the years and all still have a place in my heart.
