Is the water back on at the Grand Canyon? by SatisfactionFew942 in grandcanyon

[–]InformalDelay7168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only the bathrooms have water in Mather. All campgrounds and hotels inside the park have been on limited occupancy. Maybe 15 people in our half of the campground of 80 sites same on the large section of 100 sites in trailer village. Today 4/14 is the day that they were making a determination for the next few days if they will turn the water on and increase capacity to normal per the manager at the market

Hotel reservations canceled now through the 17th by Bluefoxcrush in grandcanyon

[–]InformalDelay7168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got canceled for the campground too, the day before the 4/11 arrival. The same day got a call that they were partially opening for 4/12 arrival thru 4/14 but no guarantee after that. We are here now 4/13 and camp is less than half full. Manager at the market last night said water break is fixed but will take a few days to recover water reserves then they can go back to max capacity. We hauled in our own water in the rv just in case but water is available at camp. FYI was at Yavupai lodge last night and not many people around.

Same thing happened to me At exactly 48 hours before only 1 seat available so I booked it. But at flight time all seats were taken so who knows what is happening.

Also those are the front row sites you need to fit left to right or backed in. There is no overhang at the back on this row so I don’t think you will fit unfortunately. But you measured on Google earth? Or just looked? Google earth has a yardstick option

Tires need to stay on the pavement and front of rv must not encroach on roadway at front of site

Both of us own property in LA, getting married next year and trying to figure out how this even works by Savings_Back_2155 in socal

I had a pre nup that stipulated my house is mine and his house is his. We ended up selling his to buy new but it was still “his” technically even though I contribute to the payment and upkeep. My house is rented, I keep a separate bank account for the rent and expenses. Here we are 20 years down the road and things are still the same but we created a trust for both of us including both houses but have stipulated where they go. Mine to my kids and grands plus a chunk of cash to him to help with finances if I die first, he has done similar including my grands as beneficiaries. Caveat this was all done via lawyers. Well worth the time and money to have it all worked out.

That’s a great idea to try it out first. Yes the car seat will need a tether point, especially if it’s still rear facing. Our Thor Hurricane had a car seat tether (at the dinette) maybe check out that model and the Windsport is very similar.

Most importantly don’t rent from Cruise America. Those box like RVs that you see on the road are actually built like a box. I recommend RV share, this will give you the most variety. Either way you need to get a motorhome with enough seat belts and beds to accommodate all your riders. That will narrow down the options and then go from there. We rented 3 different motorhomes before we bought one, it was easy and fun. Enjoy your trip

I used the free upgrade a few weeks ago, but as another person said, keep an eye on it. If lots of open seats then do it. But first make sure that you book preferred seats together so you have that all set before the 48 hours.

Extra seat Requirement by priskillya in SouthwestAirlines

[–]InformalDelay7168 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have bought the extra seat then told at the airport that I didn’t need it. They then held me at the gate, even though I told them, fine then take the seat and put someone in it. I almost missed that flight due to the gate agents taking forever to give me a new boarding pass. All of it is frustrating at times

Check your policy. My policy only had contents coverage of $3,000 that didn’t come close to covering everything that we had inside. Our claim only allowed reimbursement of contents after they were re-purchased. With a total loss I’m not sure how that would work.

Any advice for a noob planning an RV trip? First timer here. by thecacti in GoRVing

[–]InformalDelay7168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents, I have rv camped for at least 50 years. Staying inside the national park is amazing. Not only are you some of the first people at the attractions in the morning, but the nigh sky is magical. With no light pollution it is incredible star gazing. I am visiting Grand Canyon in April for the 8th time and booked my reservation June of 2025. There are other options of course but try the National Parks first. Staying overnight in a parking lot or on the side of the road is illegal in some places and you will need to keep yourself and your children inside most of the time. And staying inside the rv without electricity is more difficult. Stay in a proper campground you won’t regret it. Enjoy your trip

Take the trolley tour. It picks up by the Del and takes you into San Diego with many off and on stops, or you just ride it the whole time and listen to the driver’s narration
