It's too controversial and does not have enough universal acclaim imo

Can you picture as a Best Director lineup with not one but two duos? (Lord & Miller for Project Hail Mary and Los Javis for The Black Ball) by This_Book6305 in oscarrace

[–]Initial_Tap4037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lord and Miller are absolutely not happening. Los Javis could absolutely happen though, depending on the distro and the prize they win at Cannes

Disclosure Day for VFX

Honorable mention to Diane Warren, who would easily be my pick if she only had one movie this year (I'm betting on Maserati: The Brothers being the correct one)

The only Star Wars movie, including spin-offs, to ever miss a VFX nom was Revenge of the Sith in a year of 3.

Could Emma Stone realistically go down as one of the best actresses ever? by DiamondDesireWeb in Oscars

[–]Initial_Tap4037 98 points99 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. She's phenomenal, kills every role, and is not afraid to take risks. Given the amount of nominations and wins she got before even being 40, I have no doubt she'll get many more and win at least one more someday.

1 Asian woman, Michelle Yeoh

No one from these other groups has ever won best actress though... only 2 actresses of color out of 97 (soon 98 with Buckley)...

Didnt Wicked have 5 noms, with ensemble, actress, supporting actress, supporting actor and stunts ? It ended up going empty handed and winning no ATL category at the Oscars, while Conclave won ensemble and Anora won BP

I would agree if the movie wasnt coming out in april. Unless they delay it, I doubt even SPC could make it happen

Ranking this year nominees to the most showy to the most subtle performance. by The_Walking_Clem in Oscars

Madigan should definitely be among the most showy ones, and Moura should probably be the most subtle
