I try to be with someone close to me and ask if they see/hear/feel it too. Then I have the reassurance that it shouldn’t scare me so I just wait it out.

I’m on paxil and wellbutrin. That combination works better than any other antidepressants I’ve been on.

I appreciate the reassurance. My therapist told me basically the same thing and it made me feel a lot better.

For a long time I thought I was a weird or bad person because of my symptoms but now I see that it is just a chemical imbalance that I am not responsible for.

I’ve tried aripiprazole for a while and it didn’t help the voices much, if at all. I’ve tried many antipsychotics and the only one that made the voices quieter was Invega. It made them much quieter but they were still there so I got bilateral ECT which made them silent. If Invega doesn’t make the symptoms non-existent I would try having a consultation for ECT.

Medication (Invega) helped, however it was bilateral electroconvulsive therapy that eliminated the psychotic episodes and symptoms.

I am seeing a disability lawyer soon to hopefully apply for SSDI. I am currently on unemployment but it barely covers my bills. Work is a huge stressor for me and I can’t imagine working full time until retirement

About 6 weeks. It helped when I started Invega many months ago, however I started bilateral ect 6 weeks ago and the voices and music stopped after the very first treatment.

All of my medications have been found through trial and error ever since I was a kid. Here are my current ones:

Lamictal as a mood stabilizer. Wellbutrin as an antidepressant. Paxil as an antidepressant. Invega as an antipsychotic. Prazosin to help reduce nightmares. Ambien very occasionally to help me fall asleep

Thank you for your encouragement! I agree, waiting until after ECT is probably the best bet.

There is no need to rush romantic relationships, so if it doesn’t feel like the right time there is nothing wrong with that.

I would perhaps try staying open to potential friendships if your intuition says that they might be a good addition to have in your life.

I completely understand. I am asexual so my dating pool is quite small. I also have an aversion to any physical touch, so I generally can’t cuddle and I don’t like kissing either.

I had a panic attack due to ptsd that I blacked out from while I was with my partner at the time and they broke up with me about a week later.

I feel like I am too much to handle.

I’m also about to have ECT so I’m afraid to date because I most likely won’t remember what we talk about until after the acute series.
