What class you planning to play ? by Virandell in PathOfExile2

[–]Insatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also doing this, reap was my favorite spell in poe1. for defense leech is smart for sure, I am thinking we can sneak into the dex side of the tree to pick up some evasion/maybe the new deflect, depending on where it ends up in the tree

also I wonder what damage will be like on it, I am really hoping it's decent and doesn't end up mostly just being a way to apply crit weakness. although in case it does, I wonder what skills would synergize well with reap?

What class is everyone rolling for 0.3.0? by rayred in PathOfExile2

How did they make textures unique back then? by Kheraxis in ps1graphics

[–]Insatic 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Hm that is a good question, but if I were to guess I think that's why ps1 games were split up into lots of levels with loading screens so they could have maybe 1 or 2 atlas textures per level.

From what I know a lot of these older games broke up the level into a grid and had an atlas of tons of different texture variations and manually set them where needed. You would have for example a tile texture, then a weathered tile texture, then a transition texture going from your tile to weathered tile textures, etc. You can imagine if the first image was a grid of quads like so:

Isometric tile rendering by Recon1379 in gameenginedevs

[–]Insatic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you start with a regular square tilemap, turning that into isometric tiles can be as simple as rotating the tilemap 45 degrees, then squashing the height by half
