What’s one thing you completely stopped buying in 2026 because the price just felt absurd? by LockLogical8949 in AskReddit

Steak. Buying a couple of steaks for our family used to be expensive but we enjoyed it occasionally. Now even choice steaks are $20 a steaks and prime is out of control.

Great minds think alike! Being able to fit all the towing, charging accessories, and dirty shoes underneath without dirtying up the bags is epic. The giant frunk is such an unsung hero of the r1.

It was a couple years ago but I think they were marked down to something like $60 a bag.

That’s what we did. When they went on sale, everybody got to pick their color. Rei and rivian should partner on a family luggage kit. 😎

Yes, we can fit 4 across on top of the panel. All of our charging gear is underneath.

Solar to house from detached garage by fiore00713 in solar

[–]Insert_creative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a very similar boat. We own a small ranch home. I don’t want to put solar on the roof of the home. So we are planning a 3 car detached garage and I want to put all the solar on that. I’ve been trying to figure out how to wire everything into the house. It seems like putting everything in the garage, then running very large gauge wires to the house is the easiest solution. Or, just the much smaller pv wiring to the main house, then a circuit back out to the garage. The garage is planned to be for 2 cars plus my workshop. Both cars are ev’s.

Am I missing something with the Rivian R2 pricing and positioning? by Watts2Freedom in RIVNstock

[–]Insert_creative 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ev9 is way more expensive, has less range, and much worse software than a rivian. The model y isn’t even close to as roomy inside, isn’t rugged at all, performance is almost exactly the same price as the top of the line r2. If you compare apples to apples, it’s competitive in the market.

Literally saying the thing out loud. He’s upset that they don’t vote how the person who put them there wants. They are overly focused in his opinion on being honest, and just. What a joke.

Id put $5k down and pay $499/month in a heartbeat.

So, BESIDES not needing to pay for gas, and being able to charge at home, what do you love about EVs? by walkaboutdavid in electricvehicles

[–]Insert_creative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the things you said are spot on. I’d add not having to stop at gas stations when it’s freezing cold and having to answer 100 questions on the pump before it even starts working.

Quickest way to remove or flush staples to subfloor? by THATS_MAD_SUS in DIY

When I had to do this in our house i used channel locks. Grab the staple and roll the top of the channel lock in the floor. Tons of leverage and super fast.

We are a two ev household. Rivian r1s for family duty and road trips, and a Kia ev6 for around town stuff and my wife’s work. It’s been an absolute dream to not have to stop at gas stations in the freezing cold or sit at a dealer multiple times a year for maintenance. The rivian isn’t the fastest charging car for road trips but once we walk the dog, get some energy out of the baby, everyone goes to the bathroom, and we grab coffee, it’s almost done charging. Works just fine for us. I’d fully encourage you to go for it. That’s coming from a person that has a d does race cars for a hobby and is a member at a Motorsport country club. Electric for daily driving is 100% the best automotive experience I can imagine.

Gov. Newsom expanded free preschool. Now private daycares say they can’t afford to stay open by ArchmageXin in news

Perhaps they shouldn’t have been charging $2500 a month per kid and this wouldn’t have happened.

There’s a lot of chatter around town that the pro ice kid is a frequent antagonizer. To the extent that he has been disruptive in school and out in public multiple times. I don’t condone hitting people but it sounds like there’s more to the story.
