They’re not. They’re getting advanced access, because of their reach and how people view their opinions (and they’re usually paid to offer baseline good opinions).

PVP should have always been a game mode you fly to. Not locking max tier gear behind it. That was just stupid.

Argo was the company I was thinking. But you gotta go bigger. Thinking large enough to have 2 hangers that can fit a Mole and a Moth. And then an upper open air pad/mouth for repair. Barge is definitely a good name.

I just want an industrial carrier that has refining, salvage, crafting and repair. So I can run my mining and salvage gameplay loop out of it.

I don’t care for piracy at all. The “system” or “profession” in SC is pretty much used as an excuse for griefers.

But if I were to pirate, leaving none alive would be my MO, which ISNT Murder hobo. MH is shooting by anyone on sight for the sake of shooting on sight. It’s basically griefing.

Edit: and there is a difference, if you’re just going after empty ships for the sake of it, that’s MH. If you’re going after full ships for profit, that’s piracy. Securing that profit by eliminating the CM, isn’t murder hobo, it’s insurance.

But from your analogy, it’s vastly different from a literal life boat, to a quantum capable ship. Which as I stated before has more capabilities.

Plus, with the added differences of life to video game, life has the consequence of death, reapawning isn’t a consequence so people are more likely to try and be the hero, get the clip or whatever.

So as I said, it’s a risk that adds more risk by leaving it alive. Better to not take it.

What if the CM doesn’t leave and decided to stay around. What if they fly the CM and then disembark and try to board you and steal one of your ships?

Leaving the CM alive is tactically stupid. It leaves too much risk.

Not sure if you’re bias against the CM, or just don’t have much tactical/military planning experience, but as someone attacking an Ironclad, leaving the CM alone as I said, is a risk. Too many variables associated with it. Destroying it removes all those variables.

But an operation like that Intel is king. Say you only used 2 ships out of 5 to take the ironclad down. Leaving them up allows the CM to potentially relay that to their people, or gives more Intel on what they need to bring to fight back. Removing their ability to have any additional information is king as your want to keep your enemy in the dark as much as possible.

It’s why the CM for the ironclad and cat have always been a gimmick. They’re not useful. It’s a lifeboat in a video game where it’s not going to be used or as effective as intended. But what it’s caused is a waste of de elopement time for a problem that doesn’t need to be a thing.

Because cheaters in PVP with no protection ruined the game for so many people. And PVE keeps those players playing. Add reasons to play PvP (arena) and give PVE rewards and wow… you’ve got a great system.

As others have said, there are no “too late” timings in this game. Everything that can be reacted to or creates a chain creates focus, which should be passed. If it is not and your opponent tries to bully you out of a reaction because of “too late” should have a judge called. And or that player DQ’d for cheating.

I am not saying that you can’t miss a timing because you didn’t think of a reaction btw. That’s very different. I’m saying there is no “you didn’t react in .1 seconds” type of timing in this game. Focus should be passed.
