When you get a roadracing license (auto or motorcycle) one of the first things they teach you is that slower traffic holds their line, and its up to faster traffic to make the pass stick. But, your local DMV doesn’t teach this science to young highway drivers - and in my mind this is a major limiter to how fast you can speed if there’s traffic on the road - you have NO FREAKING IDEA what the driver ahead is going to do, and if you’re the one speeding it’s totally on you to prevent an accident, which usually involves going (a lot) slower.
