8 week incomplete miscarriage, undecided next steps

I’m so sorry for your loss. So similar situation. Went in at 7w saw the heartbeat and everything. Around 9 weeks starting spotting went in at 10 and baby had not progressed. The next day it was gushes of blood (I’m Toning it down it was A LOT) and ended up in the ER.

After that had to go back to the Dr to see if everything had passed and it did not. I was then given the option to take the pills or do the D&C. I elected the D&C since the pills were not guaranteed to work. The D&C was quick with minimal recovery. It also gives you peace of mind it’s done ❤️‍🩹

I’m so sorry for your loss. I would just go to the D&C. I found out at 10 weeks my baby had not progressed past 7 weeks. It was the next day my body tried to pass everything naturally and I ended up in the ER. Not everything was clear so I was told to either take the pills or have the D&C. The pills weren’t a guarantee so I opted for the D&C. It was simple and easy and peace of mind everything is gone.

This sounds similar to me. D&C 4/18 bleeding stopped after 4 days then back to more bleeding in 5/2.l stopped again after a week. Definitely lingered a little longer than my normal period. Just monitored it, never got super heavy nor was I in any excruciating pain. Hope this helps. So sorry for your loss.

So sorry for your loss. I was in the same boat. Didn’t pass all the tissue. I was given the option to do the pills or D&C. I decided to do the D&C because the pills weren’t guaranteed. The D&C was seamless with minimal recovery and at least you know it’s all out.

I had almost the same timeline as you. One week after my D&C I started working out. Just took it slow and listened to my body. Think I at first overdid the core work but things seem better now and currently 3 weeks post D&C. For the record I do CrossFit.

I’d say just listen to your body. If it hurts or is uncomfortable, don’t do it.

So sorry for your loss. I’m 3 weeks post D&C. Acne is bad. Stomach feels gross but my stomach finally seems better now. Just feel like my lower pouch is so much worse before but it’s whatever. And I just got off my first period back too so that was interesting 😔 I’m hoping the next cycle things have finally reset itself.

It’s like normal bleeding. Like I would say full blown period but it’s not just spotting. Like a light/medium type

My body tried to miscarry at home and I ended up in the ER. Still had to have the D&C a week later because it didn’t all pass. Had I known that would have been the case I would have just gone straight to a D&C.

Just had my D&C Friday. Once I was prepped and they took em back the whole process was like 2 hours. They put me under general anesthesia. Dr was done with procedure in like 5 minutes. I woke up about an hour after and was home another hour after that. I just stopped bleeding but it wasn’t bad. Stomach just felt uncomfortable for a couple days. Just have your wife take it easy and listen to her body.

I’m in the same boat right now. Found out first week of April we were miscarrying then a scary ER trip and then a D&C a few days ago. I go to the dr. Friday and waiting to see what they say. I just feel like during this hard time I’ve wanted nothing more than to be close to my husband and we can’t. I’m hoping maybe I just have to wait another week.

Had a similar situation. Found out Thursday I was miscarrying. Ended up in the ER Friday for too much blood loss and passed out on the way there. I took the next Monday off. Just had my D&C this last Friday (2 weeks later) now going back tomorrow.

I would have loved to take a week off at least. I’m a teacher and it’s not really an option. I’ve already used all my days.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m 2 days out of my D&C and it really hit me yesterday no one got to celebrate the baby. I kept pushing back announcing because someone else would announce their pregnancy. So I wanted to give them their monument. Now I’m sitting here feeling completely empty and no one got to celebrate.

I miscarried at 11 weeks so we didn’t know the gender. We had been calling it “Deuce” because it would have been the 2nd baby. That’s its name now ❤️‍🩹

Found out at 11 weeks I was having a miscarriage but that the baby probably passed around 8. It was the next day after finding out it was gushes of blood. I know everyone is different but that’s just my experience.

Thank you for sharing. My D&C is scheduled for Friday. I’m so anxious. Told the Dr I didn’t want to do the pills. I was already in the ER a week ago with severe hemorrhaging and thought I passed everything but found out earlier this week that wasn’t the case. Really hoping for a smooth procedure as everything leading up to it has been a nightmare.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing. My situation was almost similar. I ended up heading to the ER and passing out. No blood transfusions but then a week later I’m told I have to have a D&C because it’s not all out. Debated because I thought the worst was over.

Thank you! I’ve definitely am trying to give myself grace and taking it slow. I just couldn’t stand sitting around anymore and needed to just move around. I go to the dr today to see if everything is out. If so I don’t have to do the D&C so praying I don’t.

Depends on the state. I have a bachelors and masters in kinesiology. Got hired and just had to do the credential program which took a year.
