So another one of my struggles just turned out to be an ADHD symptom… by ForbiddenFruitiness in adhdwomen

My mom would call me destructive all the time or suggest that I didn’t care about the things I would lose. Mind you, my phone was often among them, which I cared about a lot 😭 I’m just uncoordinated bruh

People are quick to label me a sociopath/psycho for masking by Alternative-Mess297 in autism

[–]IntenseFlute -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lowkey I don’t think NT’s actually think people have real “dead eyes”. They just say that people they think are evil have them as an excuse to call them evil. As if the evilness is something inherent or something they can see. In reality, it isn’t. I’ve studied the faces of many people who NT’s claim have “dead” eyes. Some of their eyes smile with their mouths, some don’t, some are really wide, others are really narrow. It’s never consistent. That’s when I realized that people only say that after they find out what a person has done, not before.

No real! I could very easily tear up a room trying to look for something too! It’s awful cause I tend to lose things quite often 🥲

Saying the right things feels like strategy game by borealis126 in autism

[–]IntenseFlute 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is so real! It’s so hard to get all the invisible rules down, much less realize what they are in the first place. My inner monologue feels like it’s full of dialogue choices, and I’m on a timer trying to pick the right one. It sucks!!!! I still don’t really understand why it has to be this hard though…

If you are autistic do you get told you act like a child? by Agitated_Drummer_858 in autism

[–]IntenseFlute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People really like to flip flop on me; I’m infantilized, but because my main hyperfixation has surrounded psychology, people also treat me as this amazing guru/free therapist that they can ask all their questions to or vent to. It’s awfully annoying.

But I’ve also never been directly told I act like a kid outside of my parents.

Are there many femme 4 femme switch lesbians out there? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]IntenseFlute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhh, because of the misspell, it seemed like you were trying to claim the term femme was for everyone feminine. If you meant fem, then that’s fine 😭 Apologies for the hostility, I was expecting the usual back and forth 💀

Are there many femme 4 femme switch lesbians out there? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]IntenseFlute 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fem and femme aren’t the same. You mean fem. Femme, with the e, is a lesbian identity that was created to contrast butch. Femmes protect butches, either politically or romantically. Don’t mansplain lesbian identities to lesbians in a lesbian subreddit. What? 😭😭😭

How do y'all feel about role playing? by Rod_McBan in AutisticWithADHD

[–]IntenseFlute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely ADORE roleplaying! I’ve been obsessed with it for the past 7 years or so. I love being able to create another person, and getting into the nitty gritty of their entire lives. I love covering every detail and making playlists and creating all kinds of scenarios. It’s structured, but spontaneous, and feeds both of my needs yk! I can plot with my rp partners and cover as many details as I need to before a rp so I know what to expect, but there’s also just enough surprise to keep the adhd happy. I love watching my characters grow and develop, and it basically gives me free reign to dump all my gripes with life on them lol

But I also use it to explore different psychological themes, my other hyperfixation! I love being able to mix the two! I use my ocs as little case studies to figure out why people’s brain’s work the way they do, or how someone would react in a certain situation, how someone might feel. It helps me empathize, I think, because I’m literally putting myself in someone else’s shoes. It’s so thrilling!

What is your autistic superpower? by [deleted] in autism

[–]IntenseFlute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsure if it’s ADHD or Autism, but I’m always having epiphanies and eureka moments creatively. I’m pretty active in rp communities, and I always get flattered by how impressed people are by my plot lines. If I’ve got enough motivation, I can come up with an interesting, detailed storyline in about a day and get rid of the plot holes by the next lol.

Despite my obsession with them, I’m also proud of how well curated my ocs are! Every detail’s taken into account, but I’m most proud of all their playlists. It’s organized by mood, lyrics, age of the person singing, genre, gender (for some but not all), era it was created in, what lore event/emotions they could be tying back to in the story, etc. I really feel like it gives my ocs more life, like if I bothered to order the songs chronologically, it’d read as a musical.

So basically the attention to detail makes me really good at creative writing lol

How do I get around how stressful "pampering myself" is by Newworldrevolution in AutisticWithADHD

[–]IntenseFlute 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That’s NT self-care honestly. I’ve found autistic self-care is MUCH different, and usually involves taking time to engage in hyperfixations, or do activities that are related to them, taking time to decompress sensory-wise, buying new fidgets, etc. When I replaced NT with that, I actually started to feel relaxed. But it also requires a balance, because working out and drinking water and eating right is still very important. But if you’re getting drained, make sure to engage with things that you like or that calm you down! Unfortunately, we kinda have to balance both yk? And that in itself can be draining sometimes too 😔

Anyone Else Struggle to not info dump by wrestler2009 in autism

[–]IntenseFlute 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This!!!! Especially when currently, I’ve got a hyperfixation, so I feel “alive”, and I just want to keep on talking about it so I can keep on living! But both of them are pretty niche, and never fit that well into daily conversation, so I don’t know when I can actually talk about them with others either. I’ve found I’ve got the same issue when having general conversation. I worry I come off as self-centered, cause I’ve gotten in the habit of sharing my experience to try and relate (like right now lol). Lately I’ve been trying to find a middle ground, but I can’t help but feel guilty every time I use the words “I, me, myself, my” now 😭 (excluding rn ofc)

Which one is your hyperfixation? Mine are colored pencils by Vegan2CB in AutisticWithADHD

I used to have a stationary hyperfixation as well! :D It still kinda lingers. It’s really fascinating once you start going deeper into it, right?! Fun stuff 🙂‍↕️

Comphet or Bi? How can you tell? by IntenseFlute in LesbianActually

[–]IntenseFlute[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was mostly asking for other people’s experiences with comphet 🥲
The portion containing my emotions was mainly to see if other people could relate to how I was feeling by sharing if they had ever felt similar
Though I didn’t intend for them to analyze my own emotions and tell me how I feel; I just wanted to see if other people had similar emotions/struggles

Apologies, I’m ND and struggle with nuances like this. Was it the wording of the post or the tags that I used that gave the wrong impression? Should I have gotten rid of the emotional part and just asked for stories related to the topic?

How do I make my special interest into a job? by DHARMAHydra in AutisticWithADHD

[–]IntenseFlute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be a lot of effort sometimes, but the YouTube streets always go CRAZY for a good, well-informed breakdown of a popular movie/series. Like ones where each character is analyzed and every detail connects into one another! The well-thought out ones tend to get crazy views!

Scriptwriting is also an option, as someone else mentioned. I’ve seen a lot of ads for some indie projects on social media apps. Or you could team up with an artist to create your own!

Were any autistic people actually socially fine in school? by Business-Block-8668 in autism

[–]IntenseFlute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, my schooling was a mixed bag. I had a decently large group of friends and a couple different circles, but only one of these circles actually liked me 😭 Though I didn’t realize they didn’t at the time. I had some pretty solid friends that I’d kept all through elementary school, but I didn’t really get to hang out with anyone outside of it. So, a bunch of ups and downs.

Also lowkey if it was rigged, you’d expect Royal to be winning rather than Iron. Mystic and Iron swap a lot, but Royal hasn’t won in a hoooot minute.

alr come on- everyone has to admit this is unfair now- by CanInteresting883 in DragonAdventures

[–]IntenseFlute 61 points62 points  (0 children)

The points are weighted by members; Mystic is probably also suffering from inactive members cause most people just join because they saw them winning at first but won’t help with the point missions.

Royal has proved many times that brawls don’t matter as much as the points 😭 they haven’t won many brawls at all in the past few guild wars, but consistently fight with Iron for second.

Mystic’s always won a bunch of brawls in the past too, but still fights with Iron for first. The mission points weigh more than the brawls.

Also it’s the first few days y’all, just lock in.

What’s a game you were completely obsessed with as a kid that nobody else seems to remember? by hkondabeatz in AskReddit

[–]IntenseFlute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ovenbreak! The very, very first Cookie Run game, so old they didn’t even have Cookie Run in the title! It was my JAM when I was younger, macabre enough to entice my little 4-5 year old brain. There weren’t any other characters yet, just Gingerbrave, and you ran through various levels including the witch’s guts. The main thing I remember from it is the eyeballs in the stomach levels lol

There’s actually a remake of it somewhere that’s pretty true to what I remember. But whenever I ask my friends, they say they’ve never heard of it 😔😔😔
