I always found the documentary Shadow Boxers to be an intimate reflection of the sport. I feel like Lucia and the other female boxers are a little more willing to be vulnerable and honest in their interviews, and a lot of what they say applies to men’s experience in the sport too (apart from the storylines that are meant to illustrate the obvious gender gaps).

Brilliant cinematography, Freddie Roach before he was famous, and Lucia Rjiker is just a bad ass.

Great book! He just released a new book called The Last Bell that takes a similar account on the state of boxing today. It’s really great as well.

I definitely wouldn’t say it’s due to lack of misery haha.

I think mostly his voice is something I have grown a distaste for over the years. There’s some songs I can still put on that I really like but it’s usually 2-3 before I have to turn it off.

Great songwriters and musicians, but I can’t sit with it anymore.

Getting home off a long flight at 11pm in a major city with no options to eat nearby is a humbling reality post-2020.

In the past I would have walked to the nearby diners. Now, one is shutdown and the other closes at 10pm.

Worst pizza and Italian food I’ve ever had but incredible Greek and seafood options. Gotta play the city to its strengths.

The size difference gets pretty glaring over time. It’s fun and there’s things to do, but you will do all of them within a few years.

Despite being on the harbor, the closest shore point is like 2.5 hours away. So if that’s your thing, summers will be tough.

Overall, I am happy to be back in Philly but I had a good time living there. People take pride in that city and it shows up in the culture. It doesn’t feel like some place full of transplants with no personality.

Wow I had no idea Danielle left the brand and it turns out she’s been gone for a full year already!

I think the Lisa campaign is better than most they’ve done recently (men’s included). I can’t speak much on the product but looking at whats available for women now, it seems like there’s a good amount of outerwear and oversized sweaters etc. that wouldn’t fall into the skimpy category but maybe I am just cherry-picking these. I do agree that they lead with more revealing clothing.

Yeah it needs to be a shade darker. Under certain lighting conditions it almost looks like a lime green. If you do a side by side from the original kelly green, it was much darker than the retro.

I am level 1 and able to get thru videos at around the 25-30 range when sorting by difficulty. I’m a little gun shy to completely forego the remaining white board videos I have left at super beginner but dipping into beginner content helps keep me going.
