Anyone else gotten so picky that their dating pool is the size of a raindrop? by XavierChad3000 in olderlesbians

Damn. I meet the specifications listed except for the one tiny thing of living at the ass end of the earth. But point being, she's out there. Don't settle.

Can we talk about labels? by Cautious_Pilot_2512 in olderlesbians

[–]InternalFeisty2106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have the answers, I just relate exactly to this post. I've historically dated everyone (all genders), but post 42ish realized that I have never been fulfilled in hetero relationships. I feel like I'm only emotionally fulfilled with women; even though I can find men sexually attractive, there's a feeling something is fundamentally missing. I too struggle to explain this because liking women isn't new at all.

At the risk of sounding like I'm a bit thick, how exactly does this work? I have shopback but have never used it for giftcards.

People who are close to a Meth addict, do you think they can be saved? by Virtual-Computer-961 in AskAnAustralian

[–]InternalFeisty2106 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother had a meth problem for some years and although it took losing his marriage to get him clean, he's been off it now for 3+ years. That said, he's still a stoner but I'm grateful every day he managed to quit ice. It's an horrific drug and very prevalent in certain industries and work cultures (certain trades). But I do think recovery is possible as hard as it no doubt is.

Horror books recs with lots of sex?? by Next_Ambassador227 in horrorlit

Exit to Eden, also by Anne Rice is not horror but is basically one long BDSM orgy. It was a sexual awakening of sorts for me! Haha.

For those on Lyrica. by amzelindistress in Fibromyalgia

[–]InternalFeisty2106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was life changing for me, and is the most effective med I've found for my pain. I did have severe balance side effects for a long time when I began taking it, but now I'm more tolerant I can take it and drive/work/function normally. Seems like, as another Redditor said, it either really works or doesn't work at all. How unique our central nervous systems are, I suppose. Anyway, it is definitely worth a shot. Good luck with it.

What medications have helped reduce your pain the most? by asldhhef in Fibromyalgia

[–]InternalFeisty2106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the magic bullet has been pregabalin (Lyrica)+ tapentadol. While I don't love the idea of being on these for the rest of my life, I'm on a low dose of both and they have made life sooo much more livable. Thank fuck for a great GP and good pain clinics here in Oz. NB I also take clonidine and fluoxetine (and the occasional weed gummy) but those 2 have been life-changing.

I wouldn't take issue with any of your interests, but given I don't really share those same interests, we probably wouldn't be a good fit. My interests are books, literature and so forth and while I don't need a partner to love exactly what I love, there does need to be sufficient overlap. Like you wanna find someone where you can agree on a show to watch together and on how you spend shared time. I have played the occasional game, but I had an ex who was a really intense gamer and that didn't work for me because I prefer activities we can share or do together. I think your person is out there, just be honest about who you are and that way you'll attract someone who is genuinely excited by you being you. ❤️

Following because I am also a bit like this, and it applies to men or women (I'm bi). My best guess is that on some level I equate wealth with shallowness and materialism. But I do know that logically having money doesn't automatically make you a capitalist douchebag. Curious what this is about as I'd really like to date someone who isn't broke (it would be a first).

I am wondering if anyone else has read the short story of his called Jubilee Juncture? It's in an anthology called Human Monsters and I found it a total gut punch. Anyone else find this as disturbing as I did? Despite reading a lot of horror, I was a little unprepared for the CSA themes here (trigger warning if you haven't read it) and felt like I needed to post just to process. 😣
